My Michelin Defenders are cracking. Thinking of replacing with these Wildpeaks. Reviews seem good. A little pricey but tire shop is giving me a credit due to cracking make the Wildpeaks more affordable. Anyone have a set on. 265/65/17XL 116. Do you like them? I carry a 1000lb camper a few times a year and drive in some snow.

    Why not 265-70-17?

I don't have that size spec, but have been running AT3Ws for years now and have been consistently happy with them.

265/70/17 is 1" taller than stock, same width. It is a just enough bigger that most people think it looks better with no real downsides. Price is pretty close and maybe less expensive. In theory you lose a little power, but it is hardly noticeable. Maybe if you were towing near max it might be noticeable.

The Wildpeaks are a bit more aggressive and will be a little better off road. They will probably not ride as smooth and will make some noise compared to the Michelins. If you need a more aggressive tire they are a good choice. But if you don't need an aggressive tire or don't want to deal with the noise and ride I'd stay with Michelins.

I run skinny Faulken Wildpeaks on my 2015 and they are working well. I like them better (only about 10,000 miles so far) than the BFG KO2s. Size is 235-85R16. They are especially good in snow!

The Falken Wildpeak has been my favorite, do everything well, tire! I’ve ran it in 31” and 34” flavors and was thoroughly pleased in all conditions, both on and off road.

I’ve had a set on both my Tacoma and my wife’s 4Runner. Good tires, both sets wore really well and evenly. They had better wet pavement traction than my Duratracs by a huge margin. I’d buy them again.

Not exact spec youre looking at but Ive had them about a year now; no complaints. Feel great when im driving, better than stock! They do sound quieter on the road compared to my brother in law's BFG KO2s.

I have them in 285/75/16 E and love them. I previously had them in 265/75/16 as well. Great tire in dry, wet, snow.

I have 285/75/16 on my Silverado (man they are heavy) and 245/75/17 on my Tacoma.

Both have excellent traction in snow and wet. My fav tire I've had on a truck. Good compromise on fuel economy and loudness (minimal) for how dang good they are

I've been running some 285/70R17 for a little over a year now. They do really well in wet conditions. Best tires I've had and planning on getting the same ones once these need replacing.20220302_151125.jpg

I took off my winter wheel/tire setup a couple days ago for a set of stock steel 16" wheels that came with 265/75/16 Wildpeak At3ws with good tread. They're my first AT tire but I'd say I like them, road noise is tolerable and seems to get quieter at highway speed vs 40-55mph. Definitely had better traction in slush/mud than my old all seasons did, and cornering on road felt fine, if anything better than my blizzak snow tires.

This depends on which wheels you are running. If you have stock wheels you should be fine with 265/70/17. If you have wheels with offset less than zero it will likely rub a little in some places. But this isn't a hard rule - it seems to depend on your specific truck, some clear but are very close where others have a tiny bit of rub.

Great tire on and off the road... in the wet and on the dry. 2015 Sport // "265 65 17" wearing evenly with rotation every 5K miles.
Yup we wouldn't hesitate to buy again when needed.
