Cannot speak to the Falkens, had KO2's before and they worked well, but for the price, I just installed the General ATX's. around 500 miles on them, mostly highway, and pretty happy so far.

To put a bow on this: I got a set of 265/70-17 General Grabber ATX tires mounted on 17x7 SEMA replicas with +0mm.

I am very happy with the tires and the wheels: the new offset pushes the wheels flush with the fenders, and the tires ride smoothly. I will try them on the trail this weekend.

What were those the SL or the E Rated? Would that have made a difference?

Falkens is my vote. I've had them on for 20K and they have barely worn. I'm stationed up in Ft Drum NY (tons of snow, consistent below freezing temps all winter) and these tires have performed flawlessly. I will be getting another set once these wear down.

Very nice. Any rub? I can't tell from pics if front splash guards are off. I'd like to do the same but don't want to need a lift. And i like having the guards in place. I have the oem version wheels. Thanks and nice truck.

They make the X3 in a load C, why don't they make the ATx? Unless you live in CA or UT and wheel in the rocks twice a week a load E on a daily driver is just rediculous overkill and beating up all of your suspension components with that unsprung weight.

I'd love to try the ATx but only Falken make a reasonable weight tire in normal sizes for these trucks.

Did you take the truck out, and if so how’d you like them on the trail? I just got a set of 265/75r16 KO2’s put on and am itching to take the truck out.

Yeah, I have. Although the trails around here don’t compare to what I was used to in California. Still, the ATX’s did well.

KO2s do pretty well on the trail, too. Here’s my prior Jeep on 35” KO2s.

What size? I've checked both 265/70r16 and 265/75r16 from multiple vendors. I'm not buying new wheels just to try out a different tire. The wheels that came with the truck are perfectly fine.

265/70-17 from Discount Tire. It was like $150/tire. The 265/75-16 were even less.

If you don’t mind me asking where is this? I’m looking for good places nearby and Bellingham isn’t far from me.

This is Twin Lakes trail, off Mount Baker Highway. It is one of the few public trails in Whatcom County maintained by the Forest Service. The trailhead is right next to the fire station on the left, before you start to climb up to Mount Baker. About 3/4 mile before Hannegan Pass road.

There’s tons of world-class hiking right off the trail; it gets pretty busy on weekends. Off-roading is very easy for the first five miles or so, but as you approach the top the off-roading becomes moderate and the vistas spectacular.

Here are some newer views of the same trail from last week.

If the ATx is as good or better than the AT2s, they will be a great tire. I had the AT2, they lasted, were quiet, and performed well for an AT.

I ended up going X3 this time around.... They are heavy, hit MPGs, and a little noisey..... But they perform in the mud and look great.

I have ATX. Too new to judge but so far I like them.

Between the 3 the ATX is the only tire that offers 3 peak rating AND a 60k treadwear warranty.

Yeah I am already quite impressed with ATX on the trail and in the snow. And they ride and handle well on-road.

At 75+ MPH they hum on the freeway more than the stock Goodyears, but the ATX look so much better it is not even a contest.

Nice choice. Went with the Grabbers as well, happy so far, just highway and a little rain so far.
