Fair Price For Camper Shell?

I’m wondering what would be considered a fair price for a camper shell.
I found a Leer 100XL with flip down front window, pop out side windows, carpeted headliner, 3rd brake light wiring, and rear window lock for $900.
Only issue is it’s Blue and my truck is Cement. It’s been almost impossible to find one in Cement under $2000 after looking for almost 6 months on used ads.
Would $900 be reasonable to pay figuring in I would have to either paint it black myself or pay a body shop to color match to my truck?
Topper looks pretty much brand new.

Body shop should be able to paint it for $500-600.

I’d suggest not spraying it with bed liner if you ever want to color match it or sell it for any kind of recoup.

 

I suggested that because it's what I did. Avoids the need to color match and looks good on its own for cheap

 

Windoors? I'd pay that.

 

I am looking for one as well. I will not pay 2k plus for a topper. That's highway robbery.

 

I just bought a ARE today for $1550 color matched. Now I have to wait to go get it from my brother next time I’m up in his neck of the woods

 

I paid $900 for my pro top. Well worth it. Took over a year of searching and every one I found before was bought within a few hours

 

Ended up going and picking it up, was in like new condition. Couldn’t pass up the deal, gotta call around tomorrow afternoon and get some quotes on prices to get it color matched.

if u do buy it i highly recommend the bubble top seal for the topper, Amazon like $20 well worth it. I bought my protops high roof in 2019 in november before all the covid stuff started for 2300$ but i got everything for it, the extra space is great

Went around town today and got some quotes to repaint the topper and told them I could remove all the glass myself. Got quotes anywhere from $400 to $800 for notable hood quality places. Going to go ahead and pull the glass tomorrow and bring it to a small independent shop and pay the $400 cash for prep and paint. Said he’d be able to get it done this week, all other shops were backed up into February already.

perfect thank you, have you ever replaced the side window or front window seals? I’m not 100% sure on how they’re sealed but I’m going to attempt to pull all the glass and seals off tomorrow to avoid paying the labor costs at the body shop before I bring it to get it color matched.

 

yes, they have screws around the base, take them all off w/o dropping the whole window, clean apply window sealant
