The rear and back windows appeared to be tinted from the factory. I am planning to tint the front, driver, and passenger windows. Does the factory tint offer any UV protection or is it shaded glass? The tint shop recommended I tint with clear on the shaded glass to offer full UV protection. Any recommendations?

For me; ceramic on all windows was a noticeable improvement in the hot summer months.
However, I did have my rear glass and rear doors tinted 5% over the factory stained glass, and all three fronts tinted with 20%.
I think the factory glass (in general) has some UV blocking capabilities.

If you are happy with the shade of the rear, that is a great idea. Can never go wrong adding uv tint in a vehicle. I put 20% ceramic on my whole truck with 70% on the entire windshield and it never feels hot in there (in Phoenix).

It doesn't offer any UV protection or heat rejection like tint does. If you're tinting the front purely for aesthetics, then you can get away with just the front, but if you want the vehicle to actually be cooler, do all the windows. 70% is basically clear and if it's quality ceramic tint, it will block plenty of heat and UV, so it's a good fit for the rear windows.

You didn't ask, but getting the windshield done in 70% is also a huge difference if you live somewhere hot. It's imperceptible from a visual standpoint, but makes a big difference with heat in the summer.

Varies by both region and enforcement. One place I asked about front window tint said that local police officers come in and pay CASH ("hmmm ... no Mr. DA I have no record of that cash payment") for beyond-the-legal-limit.

Does anyone know what percent front matches the rear from looking at the truck? Even if not perfect

Factory tint is 20% in the back. I have my truck match tinted. I live in PA. It’s “illegal” here but very rarely used as the sole basis for a traffic stop. Typically gets lumped in to other violations or if the police really want a reason to stop you. i.e. suspicious vehicle description, reckless driving complaint.

5% including 6" strip all around

My area in East Tennessee doesn't enforce the rule at all.
On the other hand Virginia State Troopers will pull you over and supply a razor blade for you to remove tint before they'll allow you to start your vehicle...I know several that have had to remove tint....

It meters about 27%, so there’s no perfect match, but I find 20% front to be basically perfect from the outside. Looking out, you can tell the front is darker than the rear.

What advantage does “ceramic “ tint have?

Better heat rejection than other types of tint, as well as slightly better clarity. It’s really only noticeable come summer time. I never bothered with the premium price of ceramic until moving to Phoenix.

Probably also ceramic can be cleaned. When I had non-ceramic applied to my Corolla when I first moved to Phoenix (was always "gangland" and "limousine" in my mind back east) the applier said "NO ammonia based cleaners".

Exactly why I do nothing marginal. A traffic stop is bound to result in a citation or worse and inviting a stop through questionable tinting is inviting the attention (and citation) from law enforcement.

Best way I can describe it is when you have carbon tint and the sun shines thru the glass you can still feel the heat on your body. With ceramic you can't.
