I have a 2024 TRD sport and it came with the factory installed roof rack. What I’ve noticed is there is massive wind noise from it and if there’s any kind of crosswinds on the highway, it makes the whole truck shake when I hit around 65 or more miles an hour. I’ve informed the dealership of it. They had me informed Toyota directly and they’ve assigned a team to investigate it and they’ve come up with nothing so far except for they need to wait for more people to come in and complain about it and also have the engineers look into it more. I paid over $1000 for this roof rack and it makes my truck vibrate on the highway. The wind noise is so bad in the cabin and it decreases my miles per gallon tremendously. The dealership is trying to figure out how they can take it off since it was installed at the factory, but they have not come up with anything yet. Any ideas?IMG_5442.jpg

Hopefully they modify the old design to fit the 2024 roof. That OEM was as quiet as could be and looked great. I was really disappointed when i found out they don't have one for our trucks.

My OR came with it installed. I also noticed the wind noise and vibration. I couldn’t even have the sunroof open because it was too loud in the cabin, on top of that I was getting 16 MPG. I had the dealership take it off and I overpaid to have them do that which pissed me off. They had to order 4 trim pieces to plug the holes. Kind of hard to explain but there’s a missing piece of trim on both sides since they couldn’t order 2 long pieces to plug the holes. It doesn’t look bad or noticeable but it’s there. Here’s the part numbers from the dealership.

They should have a fix for this by the time the '25 or '26 models come out.

As soon as I saw how awful it looked I immediately removed that from my order.

Not surprised it causes awful noises.

If there are any seams on the underside of the cross bars then put some black gorilla duct tape on it. It should eliminate any noise coming from it.

Mine was doing that right after I drove it off the lot. I looked up some spacer solutions and then read somewhere that you just need to tighten things up. I took off the deflector (with the logo) and the cross bar underneath and then put them both back on, tightened it up and the noise went away entirely. All's good now.

I don’t even like the way it looks anymore, but the fact that I paid over $1000 for it and it makes such horrible wind noise makes my truck shake and gives me horrible gas mileage. I just want it off, but I want Toyota to do it and that’s what I’m having problems with they’re not doing anything. I have a caseworker from Toyota waiting for the engineers to fix the problem. Meanwhile, I’m waiting and I don’t wanna drive my truck anywhere on the highway. I don’t wanna fix it. I want them to fix it. I paid a lot of money for this truck!! Agreed?

Yeah, I hear that. It's just such an easy fix. It took me 5 mins. But, I wasn't wanting it off.
You do you, man. You paid a lot for your truck and it should be what you want.

same issues here, the tightening didn't fix. I had to get some furniture floor protectors to put in between the three braces underneath the faring. it is still loud as hell though and surely affects the mileage. I didn't order mine with it, but don't have a solution to replace the gaskets for free.

Looking forward to your review. Easy install? For my Gen2 Taco Toyota insisted the factory reps install it at the dealership. Sounds like you did it yourself?

Extremely easy. Pop off the plastic covers, cut the paint over the bolt holes, loose install base, attach crossbar, put into cross bar configuration, tighten bolts, done.
If you are like me, add in drive, recheck bolt tightness, fill bolt holes with black caulk, cover with plastic hole fillers for clean look and to prevent water from pooling.

Update on the roof rack situation with Toyota. Toyota itself has done NOTHING, apparently the engineers need more complaints before they will do anything. The dealership i bought it from finally after three months took it in last week to take it off. They have had it for over a week, I called today and they told me they were waiting for some weatherstripping to come in from FedEx. I still haven’t gotten an answer about the reimbursement for the $1099 dollars it cost to have it put on by Toyota.

Lots of complaints on that roof rack. They should stop sale that part until they come up with a better solution.
