I'm getting a ASG package single 12"kicker sub box sealed with a BOSS AUDIO R1100M amp and BOSS AUDIO KIT2 8 Gauge amplifier installation. I'm planning to run these on my Tacoma 2013 factory deck and was wondering if I needed a converter for them. If so what converter would I need for this set up ?

Hi I literally just setup a system this weekend and I am waiting on my custom box. You can use a cheaper loc which was my initial route because I had a cheaper loc from my old car I ended up buying a Audio Control lc7i. You can also get lc2 if you just wanna amp subs. Lc6 will get the job with 2 amps. There is also an lc8. Honestly on a budget build I would say go for a cheaper loc but after getting the loc7 seeing what it can do and the tuning options with bass roll off and I say invest a little more and go with at least an lc6. Just my 2 cents.

That amp accepts high level inputs so you don't need one. You're scraping the bottom of the barrel with that amp choice though (boss). Good luck.

Would a Rockville RXA-T1 car amplifier 1500W 2 channel Bridgeable be good with a Comp 12" kicker ?

Rockville isn't much better. If any. Like boss, they tend to be overrated and noisy. And if you're truly looking for a kilowatt and above, 8 ga ain't gonna cut it either. NVX makes some decent budget amps as does Zapco (studio)...among many others.

No need for a converter if the amp accepts high-level inputs, but I'm just here to echo the fact that Boss generally makes garbage.

I'll catch crap for this, but I'm running this amp (because I found one for less than $20 new online) with the jbl sub added to my stock entune. It takes high level inputs, so no loc needed. Catch the rear speaker wires under the front door plastics and run them to the rear. I still have to clean up the final homeruns, but it sounds better than stock!
