Has anyone else noticed that you can no longer browse facebook marketplace classifieds without logging in? I personally have no interest in FB and therefore never created an account. However I used to browse the classifieds on marketplace as it never required an account. I tried to browse yesterday and it now brings up a login screen. This is just another reason for me to dislike this propaganda tool.

I didn't know you could browse without a login at any time, shit I would have ditched FB if I knew that. You sure it wasn't just a family member logged in or something?

Positive. This never required an account in the past:

    Facebook.com/marketplace

A friend of mine actually pointed it out as he does not have an account either. We would shop without an account, then nag our wives with accounts to do the legwork.

Just tried and see what you're talking about. Just create a FB account and don't share anything else maybe? Honestly if this keeps FB marketplace from turning into the craigslist swamp of scammers then I'm ok with it. I've noticed that unrealistically low vehicle prices are now showing up in FB marketplace like they have for years in Craigslist so I'm sure there's scammers on FB too unfortunately.

This probably has something to do with their usage numbers slipping hard last month.

So it's not working is what you are saying. You still had to have an account to post or reach out to someone about a listing as their contact info was hidden if you did not log in.

Correct. I could not view marketplace listings without logging in.

Work around found - If you go into your history and pick a previously viewed item, it will let you in and you can change your search. Works for now, but who knows how long.

This is the way I used to view market place ads. Then I would bug my friends to get me a phone number. After my friends got tired of me asking for there assistance and I wanted access to the private buy/sell groups. I created a new fake name yahoo email and with that I created a new FB account with this fake name. The only thing I use it for is shopping. I have zero friends and my profile pic is of my dog.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I understand why you do this, but remember some people actually try to look at the seller ( I do this ) and see if they are reputable, as to not get ripped off. I used to use my wife's home page to buy things -she got tired of this and I had to get my own legit page. If I see a individual seller with a homepage as you describe -I would probably not buy from them.
    Good luck!

It’s not a perfect fix, but I’m divorced and I refuse it be part of the regular FB community. I have been denied access to a couple of groups, but on the whole I mostly use it for buying vs selling.
