Does anyone know if a face cord of wood will fit in a 6' Taco bed.
    Thanks

A quick Google search for "face chord" says it's 16x4x8 and weighs around 1200 lbs.

I doubt you can fit half that in the bed and I suspect even at that you'ed be bottomed out and riding the bumps though the approximate payload rating is somewhere around 1000lbs

Sounds like you need a trailer.

    Math!

The dimensions of a 6 foot bed are 73.7x41.5x19, or 58000 cubic inches, or 33.6 cubic feet.

1/4 cord is 32 cubic feet, a typical face cord is either 1/4 or 1/2 of a cord.

The average cord weighs 2000 to 3000 pounds, meaning a 1/4 weighs up to 750 pounds, 1/2 up to 1500 pounds.

    So:

If your face cord is 1/4 of a cord, yes

If your face is 1/2 cord, rent a trailer.

Thing about these tacomas, once you overload it, the rear springs never really recover.

1/4 cord is ideal for midsized trucks. Don't push it for the sake of pushing.

Weight depends on the type of wood and if it’s green or dry, can be a lot more than you think. Odds of a face chord weighing only 1200 lbs is slim that’s for kiln dried wood and who does that for firewood, up to 2000 lbs if green hardwood, google it.

Best to do multiple loads if using your pickup and you can see the sag a load is causing.

Around these parts, a face cord is a third of a cord.
It fits, stacked well over the bed and I was on the bump stops for 16 miles.
Wouldn't do it a gain if the wood were free.

    One cord of firewood measures 48" x 48" x 96" or 4' x 4' x 8'.
The volume of a face cord depends on what length it's cut to.
face cord cut to 12" = 1/4 cord
face cord cut to 16" = 1/3 cord
face cord cut to 24" = 1/2 cord.
    Pretty simple math actually.
Weight will depend on the specie of wood and how well-seasoned it is. Obviously green will weigh a LOT more than fully seasoned (or dried).
Full cord of red oak fully seasoned weighs about 3,530 lbs.
Full cord of white oak fully seasoned weighs about 4,200 lbs.
    Do the math.

Where did a 6 foot bed come from? You drive around with firewood on the tailgate? I carry firewood (closed tail gate neatly stacked) loaded to the top of the bed no problem. Never weighted never really noticed it still got 20 MPG on a 100 mile trip several times.

As said above a face cord is 1/3 of a bush cord and yes I have a 6' bed. Thanks for the educated answers.
