    wiring is pretty simple.

I ran a pair of wires to each speaker, then I hooked them up to a DPST switch, then tapped into the rear speakers using a couple of these

Keep in mind that splicing into your rear speakers to add another speaker will change the ohms and will put more stress on the amp...

I didn't read any of the write ups on the build. That is a nice install. That looks like a cool idea. My only concern is would the speakers be on all the time? Or would you be able to turn them on when you need them? Just a couple of questions on the topic.

Bilstein 5100s up front with OME 885s, rear Add-A-Leaf, LED lights (tails, dome, map, plate lights), Kicker 8" in custom fiberglass enclosure under back seat, Kicker speakers throughout and Kicker amp for sub, Pioneer DVD Player, Satoshi Grille with Devil Horns, Leer 100XQ.
I plan to install a completely seperate system in the bed, gonna mount a reciever in one of the pockets at the back and speakers in other places. I have a canopy on it and am pretty good with fabbing up waterproof housings so I don't think it will be an issue, I will be using an IPOD and XM radio for tunes....

i recently added bed speakers. took out the bed pockets and made some plastic plates to bolt 5.25" marine speakers in the resulting rectangle opening. foam baffles protect the speakers from the back.

it's an independently powered system, using a mini $30 2 channel amp from ebay. the signal is coming from the rear preamp outputs on my head unit. amp power is tapped from a circuit on the interior fuse box. the hot power wire (14ga) runs through a toggle switch on the dash so i can turn on/off the system any time. amp is under the driver seat and is grounded on the chassis a few inches away. speaker wires (18ga) are run out the rubber boot under the driver seat and up the frame to the bed.

they sound really thin, but can get loud if needed. degraded sound quality in this application is a product of small cheap speakers and the open air application. for hanging out/loading/camping etc it's perfect. so far it works flawlessly, even through the sun and rain.

    parts list:
    5.25" pyle marine speakers - $16
    foam baffles - $10
mini 2 channel amp for motorcycles - $30
    plastic mounting plates - $8
mini atc fuse tap - $10
    toggle switch - $3
    wires - $10
