I've got a scratch on my driver side door handle(looks like it's from a ring, could have been something else), any ideas on how to cover or protect from future damage?

Vinyl. Someone make already make a precut insert.
Are you referring to the actual handle or the door underneath?

That’s just scratching the paint, I’d wrap it or be more careful, same as the rest of the painted surfaces.

you could get a truck, use a truck like a truck, and not worry about it. It's not a Ferrari F40.

never seen anything for outside of door handle
only thing I know of that's good at protecting paint is ceramic coating. Which is expensive.

Anyone know if the chrome door handles are more scratch resistant? I know the old school chrome on metal is more scratch resistant but I'm not sure about the painted on chrome.

Amazon has black covers but there was a post here about someone installing them and then losing the keyless lock function

Not vouching for this product, it’s just the first one with a cut out for the door lock touch area that I found when I searched

One can also have a truck, use it like a truck and not trash the hell out of it. I think maybe you're confusing daily driver truck with contractor truck or even dump truck.

Agree, nothing wrong with taking care of something. I'm looking for an 82 or 83 Toyota Pickup in mint condition and in hopes someone like the OP cared for it.

Thanks for the responses, I was just asking if there is something out there that would be functional and looks good. The thing is I don't wear rings so I can't be more careful, I was just looking for proverbial "ounce of prevention"(even though it's too late). As far as the "F' it's a truck" mentality I get that too. I just like to keep things in as good condition as possible
