Anyone know of a company that makes extended length abs wires for the front? Or what other people with big lifts or long travel are doing. I have limiting straps and on a lift it's perfect and not too tight. But today I went a little too crazy and well...

By the way for those of you who haven't had this happen yet it doesn't let you engage 4wd. So what ever you just went through that broke it in the first place you have to go back through in 2wd!

I usually unbolt the top brackets and pull it down further by bending them, now you can simply splice and extend.

I'd buy a spare cable so that way you splice the spare and keep the same guage wire and color scheme

    @St.Germain they sell them?

@90yota thats what I was thinking too but the wires are in molded rubber and I need a lot more than 3 inches. I'm worried about all the slack catching on something. I'm curious to see pics of how other people do it. And what problems they incounter with it snagging on things.

@Bishop84 i have 2 clips undone and the last bolt/bracket on the spindle is taken off.

    I would:
    cut ends clean
    solder extension ~5"
    waterproof heatshrink
Covered in tech flex style loom.
    Done

I had enough slack by just adjusting it in the clips that held it. I've got drop brackets as well, so I have even bigger droop. You sure you didn't snag it on a branch or something.

I'd prefer not to cut and splice ABS stuff. I'm sure you can find the slack you need.

    Maybe reroute them?

I have a +3.5 on mine. They aren't even close to tight at full droop. :notsure:

I've had cut abs sensors re soldered only to have them trigger a MIL later down the road. I'm no expert but I'm guessing the pulse readings they provide are sensitive to interference and need good shielding which splicing may not provide.

If that's the case just extend them with bailing wire. :hattip:

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Correct, the sensor wiring is pretty well shielded. They're not exactly easy to extend

@Scooby24 thats exactly what I was worried about.

@erok81 how did you re route them with your kit?

This. Multiple people have tried to "fix" the abs wire and splicing tends not to work.

OP - best bet is to reroute.

This is the best pic I have. I cleaned it up a bit before I was done but you can see the routing at least.

Pretty sure those wires have a specific resistance and drop value and any new wire would have to have the same. Adding a "splice" would change that and could cause problems. Think about what signal those wires carry. It's not an extension cord or a speaker wire.

Yes I splicing is just something that I don't see being an option. I understand how the sensor works and don't want to mess with a $2400 skid control ecm (what the sensors are hooked directly into) yes no fuse just straight to the skid control ecm... I have wiring schematics as reference if anyone wants to see. And as far as a reroute goes I thought they were... I took clips out to get a tad more length out of them. I guess not enough. But upon further examination of the wire it doesn't seem like I hit anything.

@erok81 you haven't had any issues? Have you beat on it hard or jumped it yet?
