I'll post pictures if people want me to but I bought an Extang Encore for my 16 Tacoma. It installed easily and I LOVE it. They said it's waterproof but it's leaking. Toyota claims their factory one is 100% waterproof so I wanted that one at first. But I ended up getting this one instead and it leaked badly in the car wash. Then it rained a little today and some water got in the bed again. Does anyone know how to mount it better or add seals so it doesn't leak?

Anyone else have one of these?

What made you decide to go with that one? I think I realized today the instructions were a little off and if I slide it back half an inch it will keep the rain out. Is your waterproof?

I put black silicone/sealer at the seams on the front rail and fit a truxseal at the tail gate, mine is a truxedo lo pro

Just got it delivered and put it on today when I got home from work. From what I've read, it isn't 100% guaranteed waterproof, but I don't really need it to be. Even if some water leaks in, I have the bed mat that should keep stuff elevated for the drains in the bed to funnel it away. I don't plan on keeping anything stored in the bed for long periods.

Price was a factor for me, maintaining the use of the bed rails, ease of use and removal, weight, etc.

I didn't really read the directions, but have it placed with equal overlap on the tailgate and front bed rail. There is some light shinning through at the bed rail, which I plan to address with some weather stripping. I got the tailgate seal to install with it as well. I'll take a peek in there after I hit some rain or car wash with it once I get the weather stripping in.

You could probably slide it forward a little. I plan on centering mine with the same amount of coverage front and back. I also read somewhere that a bead of superglue gel around the edges will make it fully waterproof. What is the tailgate seal by the way?

I won't be putting super glue on it!

Tailgate seal is just weather stripping. Could probably find it cheaper at a big box store than what I paid for it to be included.

I've never seen a manufacturer claim that their tonneau cover is 100% waterproof. Is that what one of the salesman told you?

I bought it from a third party and the salesperson there said it was waterproof but not 100%.

Hey I'm considering this cover. Are you able to post some pics? Any luck resolving your leaks?

Sorry I just saw this. I'll post pics today. I've got it worked out much better The directions are a little off but the cover is pretty amazing. It needs to be positioned just right before the water is kept out. After re positioning it, the rain seemed to stay out. All besides the back corners by the tailgate. But that's even typical on the factory cover. In my opinion, this cover looks much more sleek than the factory one.

Awesome. I'm particularly interested in the drain tray. I saw in some videos that it doesn't go full length.

It is not full length. It's about 5" short of each end. BUT, today I went through a car wash after re positioning it and barely any water came in! There was a little water just in the back corners a little but not too much to hurt anything inside at all. I opened the tailgate and the water dried in the sun within minutes. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Just a heads up I've tried contacting customer service multiple times with no response. The good news is that I figured out the problem but seems like any warranty claims will be impossible.
