Exhaust upgrade, really worth it ?

    I'm still running stock exhaust/muffler on my 2013 DCSB. I am very familiar with the performance gains an dual upgraded exhaust can provide, but that usually is only realized with true duals and high-flow CAT and high flow performance muffler. My inner redneck usually gravitates toward anything made by Flowmaster. :> SO, I am considering upgrading my muffler to something a little louder than stock. Is there any real performance gains from upgrading only the muffler? To be honest, my primary reason for upgrading is to re-route the exhaust and/or cut it early so it does not hang up on crap when I am off-roading. All upgrades and all mods are off-road solely to improve clearance and off-road capabilities.

    I put a Borla on my long bed and as far as a little extra sound, I got zero anything else.

    I kinda like the quiet stealth feature the stock exhaust provides. If I upgrade or cut hack anything, it would be to improve clearance and offroad performance only .

    It'll sound faster, but that's about it. And you'll be tossing the quality OEM parts.

    You're not getting any performance out of duals on our V6. Nothing you can feel.

    I installed a Flowmaster 40 Series last night and finished the tailpipe today. It's a little louder and a little deeper tone. I didn't feel any difference in power.

    I have a tip for it but it's paint is drying.

    The more I drive it the more I like it.

    It doesn't sound like a ricer at all - I've read comments that said it would. It doesn't sound like my 468 BBC with 2 Holley 850's either so does that mean it does sound like a ricer? Lol

    I really like the way the TRD catback sounds. Deeper tone and a little louder than stock, but no drone. Even if youre not looking for gains in performance, id still consider it as its the best sounding exhaust for the 4.0 imo

    I liked the sound of my flowmaster super 50, nice smooth sound for a v6 and not much drone either. I have an AFE Rebel now which is a little deeper, more aggressive and a good bit louder, but drones a lot on the freeway. I still like it, and it exits in front of the rear tire too which is cool.
