Exhaust tip size

Have a 2018 Tacoma SR5 and trying to figure out the outlet and inlet size to buy an exhaust tip. I was looking at the OEM exhaust tip but it is chrome black and looking for a matte black color.

 

Save time and trouble, paint it.

 

Can't you just measure the outlet diameter of the exhaust tailpipe?

 

Is there an app for that?

 

Yea its like 2.75" was just wondering if anyone has bought one or could confirm the size so I'm getting the right size

The OEM Toyota tip is very nice quality, far superior to anything you will commonly find in a parts store and it also mounts securely without rattles. I suggest you purchase the Toyota tip and paint it if you want a matte finish.

 

Also the OEM Toyota black tip is very glossy when new. Within a year it becomes matte.

 

+1 can confirm this no matter how much I clean it.

 

I don't remember how glossy my tip is. I should lose some weight.

 

Cut the pipe off for an over axle dump and save $ while gaining offroad clearance.

 

As long as you are not polishing it yourself , who cares!!!

 

Wrap a piece of string around the pipe and mark where the string meets. Flatten the string and measure if with a ruler or measuring tape. This is the Circumference. Calculate the diameter using this formula C=2(pie)r.

 

And yesterday was the day to do this. It was Pi day after all BTW, its Pi, not pie...

Also, the formula would be D= C/Pi

 

Oh yes... I couldn't find the Pi symbol on the keyboard... fat gen x fingers and using crayon and all

 

But you're gonna have to go off road a few times for that. Maybe OP is afraid.

 

Don't need a keyboard symbol, just two keys. "P" and "i". Okay, there is a shift key required, but it's big and can accommodate your fat fingers I'm sure. Try coloring within the lines for a change
