Hello, I'm looking for a better than average exhaust for my 2002 Tacoma 2.7L 4WD regular cab truck. Seems like the only thing I can find to fit my 103" wheel base is just a stock replacement part. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

What do you mean better than average? Like for performance, or sound?

In all honesty, unless you're boosted, the only thing exhaust really changes is the noise.

In that case, go to your local muffler shop and have them throw a magnaflow on there.

Back in the day, my brother got some generic muffler for a motorhome and threw in on his 22R-TE 4Runner. Sounded pretty good, actually.

Sound is not an overly important concern of my, but I don't want a loud droning sound inside the vehicle that would make it hard to think. Performance and longevity would be my primary objective. I'd like something that I can bolt on because good muffler shops in my area are a rare breed, and I like to save a few bucks by doing my own work when I can.
A nice little chrome tip would be cool, if possible.

is your current exhaust rusting out? If not, just leave it and get a cool tip for it.

Like I said, you're not likely going to notice much, if any performance improvement with a cat-back system. A cat back doesn't do anything for the restrictions in your headers or cats, so for actual performance, headers need to go too. Even then, you don't get a lot of performance gains unless you throw a turbo at it.

I always kinda wondered if getting some motorcycle silencer packing, and wrapping that around a "loud" muffler might help drown out some of the noise...

It does appear to be OEM or cheap China replacement (vehicle has over 200k miles.)

And yes, it is getting rust holes in it now.

i just noticed your location in PA, a fellow winter state!
if the hookups near the cat and O2 sensor (I think) are original and winter weathered, it may be a bigger job than at first glance

i see the issue you are having, i cannot select the regular cab, all they have for option is xtracab

Yeah. I see the LCE part is "adjustable" or something. May need to be modified to fit.
