    Hey Tacoma World,
Just took my 2007 Toyota Tacoma for my SmogCheck and it did NOT pass because the evaporative system and oxygen sensor was not complete/NOT Ready! Is that running cycle issue or what other problems/solutions can that be? There are no OBDII codes showing currently...but, the SmogCheck place shows otherwise! Any ideas/solutions? Thanks...

    Any recent repairs? Battery disconnect?

Usually it shows this after blasting codes out and it needs numerous drive cycles to recomplete.

Not recently, but I did changed the oil, air filter, and spark plugs a few months ago! I think what happened...this AM, I tried turning on my truck and the battery was dead. I had to jumped-start it with my other car. Do you think that’s the main issue/problem? And, what do you suggest me doing to resolve it? The SmotCheck tech told me to turn on the truck (let it sit there while ON), then drive the truck on a consistent speed; +55MPH for about 15-20 minutes. Then, let it sit for another 5-10 mins. Is that about right?

100% the battery dying reset the trip.

It's usually a few days of regular driving that will set the trips to complete.

So at the very least, make sure the battery is ok a few days before emissions test.

Handheld scanners can show if monitors are complete as well, they can be as cheap as 40$

I see! :( Bummer, that’s what I thought...I guess I will have to drive it around the next couple of days as I normally do; maybe, a few long trips will do! Thanks for the advise, much appreciated!

And yes, I saw that! I do have one...but, I don’t think mine has those capabilities to transcribe the full monitors of the emissions. I will look into that! Thanks again! :) :woot:

What should you do? If the battery was dead replace it, provided the alternator is good. :)

@JustAddMud Thanks! I’ll give that link/drive cycle sample a try! Still gotta drive my truck for a few days...still shows the Evap system and Oxygen sensor monitors as INCOMPLETE.

Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
Don't ignore the battery problem. 3ish times of running it dead will kill the battery. A bad battery can also overwork the alternator, killing it. Get your charging system tested, and check your parasitic draw.
