What would you guys say are the most essential skids before it becomes overkill? I know this is somewhat subjective depending on what you do with your rig. I tend to do more fire trails but come across moderately large rocks at times and I keep feeling like ima shred something apart one of these days lol.

I have the bp fabricating front skid and buying sliders. What other skid would you do?

Top 3 essential skid plate locations?

Trans, oil pan, transfer case. Others will chime in. But those are wide open

I am going to go with IFS, trans and transfer case skids, armor on the LCAs, skids on the rear diff and maybe gas tank armor. Oh and rock sliders. I reduced the weight by using aluminum wherever possible.

Awesome, thanks. This will give me a much better idea as to what else I might need.

And I’ll definitely check out mobtown.. I always end up wasting money when I get on this forum lol.

You're welcome :D I'm a big fan of my mobtown skids. I'm obviously biased because I'm an ambassador and friends with the owner, but they truly are beefy. I intentionally bash mine against rocks and they take it like a champ.

I hear you. I'm so thankful for the oil filter on top of my engine lol at least with the sale it'll cover shipping!

The thing I can't get past is Mobtown's new aluminum prerunner style bumper. I had a quasi-spiritual experience the first time I saw it.

I got the 3 main skids from Mobtown, but decided to not go with a differential skid in back for now - just didnt see any I thought were worth it. So what types are people using?

Really the main two are RCI and BAMF with the BAMF being beefier. That said, I'm running RCI because I got a good deal second hand and it's taken a beating.

Thank you for sharing these pics. They are pretty much the poster child for why we need diff armor!

Keep in mind I do some gnarly shit (IMO). Nothing you're going to come across on a fire road. See quote below for damage report from my most recent trip.

If you think this place is bad try Fnforum, Arfcom, etc.. At least significant others can see some value in vehicles lol. Take it from the man trying to convince his wife that the FN SCAR requires a MAWL.

On Saturday I am having about $7-8k in stuff put on my Taco and my gun safe has its own gun safe. Whenever you need I can share some of the shameless strategies I have used to get away with this.
