Our Tacoma isn't having any problems with the weather app. It does take it a couple of minutes when you first start the truck before it will be able to display anything, it will show downloading. Plus you have to have a HD iHeartRadio station close by to get the weather and traffic data from if not paired to a phone.

Yes, thanks Cheesiepuff. Your "delete personal data" fix worked for me too! The lack of weather wasn't fatal but it bugged the crap out of me. I also got a software update in the process. All good now.

I have a 2017 TRD Offroad 4x4 with Premium audio. Bought used wit 13k miles. It doesn't have weather or traffic apps. I use a Galaxy S7 and connect via bluetooth perfectly for phone and music. Entune (not 3.0) will not accept my VIN. I updated the HU using the USB and I've tried different combinations of resets and deletes. Even using the a VIN from a Limited that worked for the app on my phone nothing updates on my truck. Scout does nothing. Still under warranty so maybe my Atlanta area dealer can help if I cant' find it here. Will keep you posted.

The basic Entune Plus package on my 2019 SR5 won't take the VIN and the phone apps won't work with it. Entune help confirmed this as the way it was built. Stock settings did not allow access to HD channels, but after reading the first few pages of this thread tonight I went out and fiddled with them. Voila, HD channels! Now I get KHPT's 80s alt biased HD2 channel out of Houston. The HD weather and traffic won't do me any good as they're Houston-centric and I thankfully live 70 miles north.

Lol, I may be looking to buy a new Taco soon and am lurking here for the final push from a 1st gen.

My 04' has a flawless weather app complete with a huge screen thats about the size of the windshield. It shows you exactly what the weather is doing at all times. It also updates every time I back out of the garage. No signal needed.

So far, anything new seems to technical. If I go new, can I rip out all that infotainment shit and put in a $99 head unit or is it tied into the whole truck to monitor all the drivers nannies?

I got mine Oct 19 from Gullo Toyota in Conroe. We've bought two other Toyotas from the same salesman there. I went out to the truck this morning to fiddle with it some more and the traffic and weather were not immediately working. I said "oh, ford!" or something similar. Went back to the thread to read some more and found out sure enough I need to wait 5 minutes before it fully loads.

Worked for me just now. I have had all the weather except the map for a number of months. Now I get the Weather Map every time.
    Thanks Cheesiepuff.
