Entune no more?

Everything was working perfectly with radio and alexa etc…
got in taco today and entune is no more and radio says start Toyota app. Basically remove all and start from the beginning with Toyota app and Cell phone connects but no alexa no voice recognition. What’s up, anyone else’s experiencing this?

Mine worked yesterday same as always

 

Three weeks ago, I traded in my 2018 Tacoma for a 2021. I used the Entune app everytime I got into my old Taco. But when I tried to enter the VIN for my new Taco, I recieved the exact same message as you. No clue!

 

Entune updated for me the other day. No idea why. I never use Alexa so I'll have to check and see if that feature is still there or not. Everything else seems to be working normal.

Same here. In fact, I shut down the Entune app on my phone. When I started my truck... my phone asked to run the Entune app.

Makes no sense.

 

I used it recently to do a software update on the truck.

 

At a certain point I noticed the sound quality of my Bluetooth to be way worse when I was using the entune app

 

Is this only on older trucks?

 

It may be Entune 2.0 related.

 

entune app was discontinued a while ago. now you just use the toyota app.

 

This explains why I don't know what it is. When i got my 2020 they helped me pair my OnePlus 7pro to bluetooth and showed me how to connect to android auto.

I do have the Toyota app on my phone but I had no idea that it did anything connected with the truck. I thought it just was for service records and scheduling, roadside assistance and the manuals and stuff

 

Entune 2.0 setups still uses the Toyota Entune app.

 

yea, i'm not sure what you need the entune app for anyway. what does it even do?

 

Well, the app doesn’t work anymore.

 

It allows your phone to communicate with the apps on the head unit.

 

Oh. And the Toyota app doesn’t work with it either.
