It has been less than 2 months since I have gotten my new tacoma and it had been non stop upgrades and the more I read the more I see. It is like having bought a hobby and it is stripped down. What upgrades do you guys thing are must haves and what do you thing are nice to have if you have the money!
Here is a list of what I have done so far:
    1. Nano Ceramic Tint all the way around including the windshield. Cuts down the heat drastically.
    2. Rear camera mirror. Wolfbox 900 pro.
    3. Custom seat covers for front from Coverking. Card bought from Sam's club at 1/2 cost. Rear seat covers came but didn't have the 3 needed holes for hybrid version so I had to return them.
    4. Iceco APL 55 refrigerator and ecoflow delta2.
    5. Tauneau cover WorkSport.
    6. LED Blinker lights, lasfit.
    7. Amplifier, Beat Sonic.
    8. Opt7 lightbar for rear under tailgate.
    9. Radar detector, Uniden R8.
    10. Fitdvr.
    11. Husky front liners. Rear not available for hybrids.
    12. Icon coilcover top hat, bought after I posted this. It seems to be a cheap insurance on a questionable part.

    Considering:
    1. Reverse lights, Baja designs
    2. Roof rack and light bar, Cali Raised.
    3. Switch controller to power all of this
    4. Meso interior lights

Upgrade to what u need rather than what u want . Non functional modifications are useless and waste of money . Ask yourself what are u going to use the truck for then go from there .

I agree, upgrade what you really need/want, not just install a bunch of stuff because you can. the good, and bad, part of these trucks is that there are so many accessories available, it is tempting to install them all!

My favorites were hood struts since I open the hood a LOT and really hate the prop rod. That was around $100.

I made spacers to jack up the back of the seats because I did not like the angle. Cost around $8 for longer bolts.

And I removed the air dam. That was free. :)

I will do more in the future for sure, but those were the things that were bothering me, and they were very cheap to resolve.

I've been criticized and misunderstood for my work oriented interests in the pickups and see for some this is entertainment and a hobby. Also, big differences in how they get used. Some of what folks do can entertain me. Age is likely part of this. At 1/2 my age the vehicles I had meant a lot more. At retirement age function, safety and efficiency mean more.

It's fine to me if this is a hobby for some. Having had 1970s and 1980s pickups I can marvel at all a basic and mid level 4th gen have!

One smile I get in the upgrades is discussions is Labor Day through Thanksgiving is time to get and renew skiing lift tickets so I've got most of those upgrades done.

    :)

I like your style OP, to get all the wish list items done early so you can enjoy them immediately and thru life of ownership. Non-functional upgrades are not useless if they bring you joy and don't pose a financial burden. Post a pic of your build!

Mine will get no upgrades. I HATE This truck. It can't hold a candle to my 06. no way this POS is going 225+K and not falling apart.

I posted some photos and accidentally replied to someone else. Hopefully it is inspiring to someone. Every upgrade so far has been fantastic and needed, especially the refrigerator.

That horrible pink AutoNation license frame! #1 low-cost mod. I've had Billet Specialities 55020 on all my vehicles since forever.

Don’t need a radar detector if you just drive legal speeds.

Does the digital rear view offer a wider angle of view or did you just want to stop seeing the rear window/seats in it? Can it also function as a rear facing dash cam and record if someone hits you?

Every car I've ever owned has all had the same first mod - dealership de-badging. All plate frames and stickers are the first to go.

Also removed the poor quality pinstripes and TRD OR stickers from this one.
