I'm looking for a unicorn maybe? Can I please see your elevated bed racks with a rtt and a cover on the bed that locks but you can open the cover all the way and get to the back of your truck bed with the RTT on. TIA

Im currently in the market for the same thing. I have found that RCI and Voodoo are the main companies that allow you to do this combination. I just got off the phone with both companies and it seems like the RCI bed rack is the only one that you can fully roll up the entire bed cover (I asked about the truxedo version since that's what I have). Voodoo said they haven't tested rolling this brand all the way up with their bed rack yet but I'm assuming you'll be able to roll it up most of the way but maybe not all the way. Only because the Voodoo "tonneau brackets" only lift the bed rack up 2.5" where the RCI ones lift the bed rack up 3" giving it more clearance for the cover to roll up. hope this information helps even though I don't have any pictures.

I have a voodoo rack but the lower one and my tonneau cover folds up I think 3 folds. I need to get all the way in the back to get to my tools and recovery gear but I can't open it due to the rack. Need to figure something out.

You could go the route I'm going, which is to get Billie Bars (they now have a 6.5" height version) and then do what this guy did with his and swap the bars with front runner bars.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/billie-bars-anyone-used-them.683308/#post-24094846

I have my 6.5" Billy Bars installed and I'm able to open my Diamondback cover, but only slightly, I think once I swap the bars out with Front Runner load bars I should be able to open ALMOST all the way.

I have my bars essentially as close to the bed as possible, since I want to give the most room for the front panel on my Diamondback cover to open, since the back side i have the tailgate to get access.

Do you have the tonneau adapter kit for your voodoo? Also what tonneau cover do you have?

I don't have a tonneau adaptor kit, the mounts can go under the cover. Its a stock cover, solid hard plastic that folds up. you can see in the pick how low the rack is to the top of the cover.

Can you post a picture of the view out the back from the rear view mirror? I am debating on the full height or mid height for this setup. I want the tent as low as I can get it, but I must be able to see out the rear window well enough. Nice looking setup!

Genius! That rolling bakflip is making me re-think my entire set-up. I've been looking at several options, and was also considering the UpTop Rack. The drawback to anything I originally planned for was that I wouldn't be able to open my tonneau at all (I have a Leer trifold), but I had considerably more security in the bed than I would with a soft cover. I was considering pull-outs to help solve the problem of accessing most gear, which could work well for some people. But that creates the problem of having yet another thing to uninstall for when I actually need to use the entire truck bed for non-camping/overlanding and also puts even more weight in the bed.

Ya, I bought a Pro grill off a local here and he had a Revolver x4 with an RCI rack. Just seeing how well it worked sold it for me. I had the OEM tri-fold before. I hated crawling up in there when I couldn't reach stuff. Plus its aluminum with a weight rating of 400 pounds.

There's a group buy going on if you're interested, for an updated Revolver X4S. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-new-bak-revolver-x4s-group-buy.710784/

Thanks! I'll have a look at that. As I was searching more last night, I noticed UpTop Overland also has a Softopper compatible rack. Has anyone tried that with a tonneau?

Just adding to this thread for any one in the future. I have a 2009 DBL cab Tacoma and tried installing a KB Voodoo bed rack with the revolver and the brackets would not fit under the tonneau rails. Not sure they changed the cover rail design or what, but no modification will allow the brackets to fit since the cover rail and the bed rail caps have a tongue in groove type fitment. Just trying to save some future wheeler the headache I'm currently enduring. My only saving grace was that the revolver was broken on arrival, so I get to return it. So anyone have an experience with the RetraxONE?
