Hey everybody, I just purchased a 2014 Tacoma and I’m loving it so far, huge upgrade from my ‘04. I have a bakflip fibermax on it currently and I’d like to add a bed rack for hauling lumber and kayaks and keep the tonneau. It seemed like such a thing didn’t exist until I found the Elevate Rack by Truxedo. However, the trouble is that when I called the folks at Truxedo to confirm the fit, they informed me that their t-slot rail system won’t work with the second gen Tacoma. It turns out I would have to buy a tonneau with an integrated t-slot like the retraxone xr. However I don’t like the idea of losing bed space with the retrax and it is rather expensive. Can you guys think of a way to attach the elevate rail/ an alternate option for a rack? I was thinking I could rivet it to the bed rail. Any thoughts?
