These have been around for a long time and there have been suckers for just as long. It's too bad that this doesn't work for our vehicles because they definitely would be worth the money.

My ex wife got the rust proofing module for her subaru for $800 or more. I looked up the module online and found that the module they installed retails for less than $100...

...oh is that the "snake oil" bs module that "runs pulsed current" thru the frame and body?

Besides the potential that it's worthless, I was worried about any health risks. I know that sounds silly, but I spend a lot of time in my truck, and kept my last one for 18 years. So I'm not sure being surrounded by a low dose current is good for you.

    A few minor things...
    Oil undercoating works the best.

Cathodic rust prevention is real and it works. You just would have to park your truck so it's immersed in salt water.

    It's BS. Won't do a thing for a car.
How do you think your brake lights work? Or your house wiring? Electro-magnetic fields have no effect on your body.

Bingo. Buried in the ground or encased in concrete would work too.

I believe all car bodies go thru an electro coating sequence in the baths in the factory and there should not really be a need for rust proofing on any car anymore.., although I still undercoat them with cans of undercoating and spray oil in the doors occasionally, lived most of my life in the rust belt so this helped really well..

also worked at a bodyshop years ago and the dealers would get us to undercoat and rust proof their cars for like 50-100 bucs per car then they mark it up to 400 for resale.

Only oil sprays works. Electronic is 100% gimmick for cars. Here's proof oil works:

Thieves, trying to ride the backs of rusted out frame fears from the 1st and 2nd gen debacle.

I'd be disconnecting that alternator ASAP. Wrap all the in cab wiring in EMF shielding material too. ;) :D

Cathodic protection is definitely a real thing. Nearly every buried gas/oil pipeline has it and it is proven to work

    Key word here.

This device is not electrically connected to every drop of saltwater spray coming off the road, so it doesn't physically do anything.

Cathodic proetection works. Just the systems they install in cars don’t work.

As well as ships, bridges, towers. It doesn't do much unless the thing you're protecting is in the presence of moist dirt, the ocean, liquid inside the pipe, to complete the circuit. Moist air doesn't provide enough conductivity to do this effectively.

Now there is the possibility that if you drive your truck on the beach or live right on the ocean with the salt air having one of these devices may be of benefit, I dunno.

I was speaking of cathodic protection in general, I don’t know much about the systems for vehicles
