ECT PWR light on dash is on. How do I turn this off?

All automatic have the ECT button. You sure PO didn't hid it behind the dash? Should be by the left side.

You have a manual trans truck but there's an ECT light illuminated on the dash?

Maybe your truck started off as an auto and someone manual swapped it - and some wiring issue is triggering the ECT light.

Or your dash was swapped with a dash from an auto truck and some wiring issue is triggering the light

Just pull the bulb from behind the dash?

No reason a manual trans truck should have an ECT bulb unless some kind of swap happened either with the original dash or the original transmission

 

On a manual truck there shouldn't be a bulb in the ECT light spot in the dash. I'm thinking that someone swapped the gauge cluster, which could mean your odometer is off too.

 

ya it doesn't make sense, something got swapped. Most likely the dash but no manual trans truck should have the ECT bulb there.

 

it came on when i accidentally went from H2 to H4

 

yeah I dunno, I would just pull the bulb because there's something funky going on swap-wise. Or just put a piece of black tape over it, IDK

 

Sounds about right then, Someone definitely swapped the gauge cluster with one from an auto. They could have fudged your mileage as well, hope you didnt end up with a super high mileage truck without knowing.

 

Does the 4WD light come on?
