    Hi guys,

I'm an idiot, I know. I didn't read around before purchasing a set of headlights on E-bay. I saw about seven different sets for ~$100 each and figured, wow, that's a really good deal! Since my truck's stock headlights are more yellowed plastic than chrome, I was excited to add black framed headlights to my truck to make it look newer. I purchased them from dotcomracing.

Well, the first set lasted a week before filling with condensation after the first storm. I took them out, took pictures with them full of water, and contacted the company. They agreed to send out another set in exchange for the leaking set, as long as I paid for shipping.

I just wanted a refund, so I ignored the offer...they sent the 2nd set anyway. These looked like they had deliberately slathered in extra adhesive and seemed to line up slightly better with the housing. Hopeful, I installed them during a weekend at home and then drove back up to my university 600 miles away.

Fast forward 2 weeks and the passenger side is now full of condensation again. The water has eaten away the fake chrome inside already. Is there anything I could do to salvage them? I don't want to fight with the company. Bake them open and try to reseal them myself?

    Thanks,

    Smudgey

I have had three tacos, all were updated due to yellowing of OEM lights, never had a problem with condensation, ever....and they were all Ebay, Euroclear cheapo ($100 set) lenses...

    Bummer.....

I purchased a pair of blhm from another member. I had the same issue. What I did was pull them from the truck, wash out with hot water (to get the dirt out that went in with the water), then dried the chrome with a soft cotton rag and a stick to move it around, then used aluminum tape to secure a hair drier to the hole for the headlight. That forced hot air throughout the light and out the two other light holes and vents. Took about half an hour for each light. I did it this way because I couldn't get the lens to separate from the housing and couldn't use the oven. I then used clear silicon and sealed the entire seam (forcing silicon between the lens and housing. Worked great for me. Haven't had any condensation since.
