I’ve got one of the Best Differential Men in the area about 20 minutes away. He specializes in Differentials well actually that’s all he’s done for 40 plus years and he is very very reasonable. I was hoping to get away with the TrueTrac because it was cheaper too. Where I run that truck on the road a lot I’m just a little afraid of the Detroit Locker. It looks like they would wear themselves or wear something out with all the noise they make but I don’t know enough about them to really know how long it would last in the truck. I like the idea of being able to turn it off and on.

The problem with the AutoLSD is that it uses the brake to try to direct power from the spinning wheel to the non spinning wheel. You are applying the brakes to try to go forward... with an LSD this doesn't happen, the power is transferred between the axles through clutches or cogs or gears, depending on the type... there is always forward motion.

I guess I’m going to be better of to go ahead and get the E-Locker Harrip I believe was the one I was looking at. I thought the True Trac would have both wheels pulling through soft ground mud etc. but I guess I was wrong. If the E-Locker is better that’s what I will put on it

Harrop is beefy, arb needs to get installed properly, I think even if seal leaks air its still usable.
Arb is instant engage, harrop has some revolution to engage, also if you roll back after it engaged after first forward revolution it disengages I believe. It’s electronic, so no compressor needed.

One thing to know about the Harrop E-Locker, is it uses ramps and rollers to engage the cogs to lock the axles. This ramp and roller set up will disengage and re-engage when changing directions. Some people have found this quirky and troublesome in some situations.
