Made this for about $75 total. Breaks down and fits in the bed with the gate shut (the long pieces placed diagonally). The verticle square frames are cemented. Nothing that runs parallel to the length of the truck is cemented, so it can be broken down but it does hold together well. The two riser/flies are cemented. There are 4 points that require lashing, but I'm going to figure a velcro fix for that. Just buy a 10x14 tarp and 4 bungees and you're done. I like that I can replace the tarp any time and I have a new tent.

Fits a regular length cot perfectly. I might take measurements and update the thread. Notice how the sides go out and lower than the top on the sidewalls on the bed. This keeps rain out but allows for circulation like a teepee. I am going to hang a mosquito net from the center square. It's tall enough I can sit on a chair under it and I'm 6'2". I am going to get a popup trailer, but I'm still going to bring this as an extra place to sit outside.

    Here is the main frame.

And a side view showing the difference in the rear fly frame and the front.
BTW, if anyone wants to trade the black plastic grille like the Pro has for my fancy schmancy grille, lemme know. I'll trade even.

I recently purchased a soft top from a friend and I already have a cot. I’m gonna put the soft top on and throw the cot in the bed and see how it works out. Thanks for the idea.

If i saw you out in the woods, I would assume you were cooking meth.

Joking aside, cool idea. Beats paying full price for a bed tent thats for sure.
