I have a 1st gen that I mentioned in another thread that I am getting ready to remove the bed and fenders to repaint. The frame on this truck is in great shape but I want to treat it. I understand that the Eastwood encapsulater can be sprayed to treat inside the frame and seems more like a paint. Does anyone use both? Wool wax seems more like an oil coating? Encapsulates inside and wool wax outside? Trying to get suggestions from anyone that may have done it pros and cons?

check this video. it's long, but extremely thorough, with no evident bias..

almost nothing available through consumer channels that's spray-on is going to be a long term solution.

Almost nothing is going to be an “apply and forget” solution, particularly in the salt belt. I recommend something clear so you can see what’s going on beneath it. I used wool wax for the first time last year and it held up well, I need some light touch up in some areas. I did spray inside the frame as well. Only time will tell how effective it is. I do see that anything that had surface rust on it has been mitigated, stopped dead in its tracks.
Plus my dog loves the scent.
