I used it on my 04 4runner. I don’t think I’d spray it inside a frame if it was brand new and not rusted. This product is meant to convert rust and essentially paint it at the same time. If your frame is still pristine I’d stick with something like fluid film or any other corrosion inhibitor on the inside, and I’d probably flush the boxed sections of frame real good after winter to increase longevity.

This reminds me, I have some product leftover that I’d like to test on a piece of rusty metal just to see how it holds up. Right now inside my boxed frame I’m just hoping it’s done it’s job. I topcoated with CorrosionX to be safe.

Edit; I’ve done a lot of searching on Eastwood internal frame coat and there aren’t really any long term results or pictures out there.

I use fluid film on my frame and apply a coat every fall. My frame was replaced in 2013 and still looks like it’s brand new.

talked with a customer rep at Eastwood about this product

unfortunately it is not UV resistant so i cannot test its efficacy on clean blasted metal on the outside frame before i spray it inside after removing all loose coating chips
the service rep said there was a prior comment to their database of a Jeep person spraying this on whatever they have and it does stick well to clean uncoated metal

but jeep metal may be of different quality than toyota metal :notsure:
i do not desire to spray this inside only to find it peeling off internally years down the line because of the possible lack of internal rust to adhere and convert/encapsulate

they do have a newish product called Rust Encapsulator Platinum that is supposed to adhere to both clean and slightly rusty metal
    https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-rust-encapsulator-platinum.html

but is not available at the moment in a rattle spray can as the Internal Frame Coating is
and the bummer, here it comes...
found several negative dissatisfied comments with the Encapsulator Platinum product on their website

Dude it’s not UV stable because it’s supposed to be on the inside of a frame. If you have UV rays going in there then you have some serious other issues to address first

It can also be top coated, so another point for UV stability irrelevance lol

the inside of frame is supposed to have rust for it to properly convert and adhere to, whatever the chemical process is idk!
the service rep said it will adhere to clean uncoated metal but not loose chips, is a good idea to clean the loose stuff out of the inside
i just wanted to test it on the outside area to see how well it adheres first to clean toyota metal, maybe spray some under the middle somewhere inner rail and see what it does over a few months time
and if i will or will not have to resort to flash rusting the inside of my truck frame for it to work properly
    whatta mess!

I used the East Wood frame encapsulator on my '02 Tacoma and my wifes '05 Lexus last fall, before we moved from Kansas City to the North East.

I also coated the inside & outside of the frames and underbody of both trucks with Wool Wax in the fall, prior to the snow flying.

I taped a metal wire to the straw to stiffen it up some, making application easier. It was a cheap and easy fix to the limp & curled straw problem.

IMO, its a thin product, but covered well and does a good job of creeping into places from what I could see inside the frame. I did two light coats.

I havent done anything more than a couple quick rinse offs of the frame this winter and everything looks great under both vehicles so far. Will know more of how it held up this spring, once I can give the underbody a good washing.

was that Eastwood Internal Frame Coating sprayed in a replacement frame with all good intact factory coating inside still?
or is it a different product of theirs you used?
they have a variety of products all with different yet similar names lol

I'm in the process of using it now on a 56 mercury. Im using both the internal spray and the brush on. The internal stuff has no reason to be uv stable. The brush on comes in 3 different mixes, 1 is uv stable and ther others need a top coat. The flexible hose gets around bends fairly easily, has a few exits so the spray goes everywhere. Just put it in all the way and spray as you pull it out, not the other way around. From what I can see it's doing a pretty even application. Then spray some carb cleaner through to clean the hose before it dries. The hose also works on rustoleum cans.

The Tacoma had a frame replacement done about 7 years ago. I was not the owner of the truck when it was replaced, so thats an estimate. There was light surface rust on the outside of the frame and inside, but no major flaking.

The inside of the Lexus frame was worse and had heaver rust as its the original frame and not sure the prior owner washed the underbody as much as they should have.

I washed out both frames real well with water and let them dry for a week or so before using the internal frame coating. And yes, I used the same stuff you put in the link. The aerosol spray internal frame coating.

I do have a section on the outside under by the bumper that needs blasted to bare metal that is not readily exposed to uv light
Could possibly spray this on that to see how well it sticks over the next several months before tackling the boxed section

I’ve shot a rusty 4Runner frame interior and a lightly rusty Lexus GX frame (same exact frame basically) and the coat is still visibly adherent inside both. What I do is coat, then come back a week later and coat with my product of choice CorrosionX HD. Fluid film or whatever else would function the same. Point being I don’t just rely on the Eastwood.

this is what i will be working with to clean out before spraying internally, this old coating looks like its ready to flake and peel idk
humidity corrosion on the topcoat?? the wimpy primer!? its probably this way throughout the inside
i might first try some blasts of compressed air before hunting down a water jet with conical nozzle to shred all the loose stuff off
    good or bad idea?

over the late summer i was able to tape a stiff wire to the limp wand and probed deep into this rear area enough to squirt it out through the top hole right here
