'08 TRD Offroad with 315,000 miles. Busted a strut last night and had to make an emergency purchase of Autozone Duralast struts because that's all I could get my hands on at short notice. Are these horrible struts or decent? Anyone know who makes them?

I mean, they are not bilstiens if that's what your asking. But wow that's unlucky, never seen a strut fail like that.

They appear to be made in India for AutoZone. They say they're made to OEM specs, just a little softer. "They" being reviews found on google. They also say you should replace both struts at the same time. Most likely the struts will work for normal use, but overall will not last as long as Bilstiens or another comperable shock. Plus I'm sure you'll be able to find a used pair off a 3rd gen on CL

So WTH were you doing when that shock broke?

Who cares if they are great struts or not, they are a 1000% better than the used up broken strut you have now. How many miles on the broken strut? What were you doing when it broke?

Those are the originals on there with 315k miles on them. And I hit a railroad grade crossing going about 30 mph when it popped. Ive crossed it 1000 times but apparently the railroad did some work on the tracks and it had a new 4 inch dip in it that wasn't there before.

Yea that's one good thing about Duralast and there's an Autozone on every corner.

Man I don't even know about spacers. What's on there is what was original from the factory.

I'd put on a pair, forget the naysayers on here, and keep on "truck'in". :)

    OME and worth every penny.
I agree. If affordable, just throw another one on the other side and go your next xxxK miles.

Unless you all of a sudden want to start putting real money in PM.
