Duplicolor or Rust-Oleum Bedliner in a Can

Wanting to add a textured and durable coating to my flares, bumper and step bars. (Maybe even rocker panels all-around too.) Just as I read Duplicolor is better than Rust-Oleum, I read somewhere else the exact opposite. What do y'all think?

 

Not spray. Although it can be sprayed if you have the gear.

But tougher. Smoother. Available in small quantities.

And color if you are bold enough to step away from mafia widow black. But it does come in black if that makes you happy.

I've heard good things on raptor liner, comes with sprayer and all. Except the compressor of course.

I used I believe duplicolor bedliner on tge inside of my bumper but i also painted over it so my review wont be of help

If you are just talking spray cans, I prefer Rustoleum. Duplicolor has much larger chunks and just seems inconsistent to me. Rustoleum is almost always consistent. Get it at walmart for $6.99, all autoparts stores charge $9.99. As much as I hate walmart, you can't beat that price.

 

What is the final texture like? Is the sheen matte, satin or gloss?

I would say satin. They tend to get slightly more matte over time.

 

Not bad. Not bad at all. I like the "mild" texture. Did you use the standard or "professional grade" stuff?

 

Standard. From what I understand the professional grade is thicker, but it also costs more and doesn't go as far.

 

I plane on doing my flares (2003 DBL Cab so they are a little larger than yours), front bumper/grill/grill surround and brush guard. How many cans should I get? I want GOOD coverage.

 

I think I just used 1 can for all the flares.

 

Do think it will adhere to that rubber strip between the flares and body? I don't plan on taking these things off to spray. I've heard mine have the clips behind them that inevitably snap when taking them off.

True. But at 100x the cost, I don't mind "freshening up" every once in a while.
