I was looking to put a deeper sounding exhaust on my truck. I've done a lot of research but my friends truck has dual Y pipes with a muffler deletion (with factory cat) and it sounds really good. I was wondering if anyone knew any good places to buy dual Y pipes?

I'd think your best bet would be to go to an exhaust shop and have them make it for you. They can take the pipe, cut and bend as needed.

No, I was thinking of leaving my Cat converter on and then doing a Y pipe into a dual exhaust and taking out the muffler

no, just a y pipe off where the muffler would be into duals.

this is what i was going for. Sounds super good in my opinion. His description says "Y'd duals with no mufflers and factory cats."

ok, think i can picture it now.
literally just cut off muffler and stuck a Y in its place to make duals.
Everything forward from there still stock. Is that right?

Ya that's what i was thinking. That video clip makes it sound pretty good. Only thing is, I can't find a good Y pipe

This is dead on exactly what my truck sounds like and all i did was put in an Aeroturbine 2525 where the old muffler was :notsure:

yeah ... every single aftermarket exhaust i have heard on almost any standard v6 sounds like dog shit. Super raspy or just droney and lame sounding. OP stick with stock, or at most the TRD cat back.

Hey man, to each his own.
But I agree, fast forward to 2:40 on that video and ask yourself, is that the combo I want with a head ache going home from work? That's not just his tires.

That said, you can surely find an exhaust shop that can give you a quote to create what you want. Between the spare & fuel tank, you probably want to have a chat with them to figure out exactly what you want out of it.

That said, here is a dual out the side y pipe from Flowmaster:
    And this one

Not finding what you want right off, but the parts are there to weld or clamp your own together. Given the prices for dual systems check with a local shop and get what you want. Or try to email the guy that made the video and find out where he had his fab'd.

That lawn mowery leaf blower sound is def not the exhaust, in fact you can barely hear the exhaust besides a little rumble every now and then in the video. Sounds like the guys got a mini fan going in there haha. But man those tires are loud.

y pipes or "dual outlets" dont really sound any different than a single exhaust. more or less just a visual thing.

If that's the case then a couple of paper towel rollers covered in aluminum foil will do the trick. I think I'm gonna make some for me!

Can you upload a video clip? I would like to avoid any welding if possible, which is what that guy did (cut out the muffler and welded a y pipe in). I'm just looking for a deeper sounding exhaust, which I also know is hard to do with a v6...
