That is cool. Not sure the cost vs value for the amount of times you’ll need it. If it’s 30 gallons it’s 240lbs in added fuel assuming you’ll always want to keep filled. It is easier than carrying 6 5 gallon gas containers and not as messy for those trips where gas isn’t easily purchased

So you can put 1000lbs, or more, in your bed (which is supported by your frame) and that's OK, but your frame can't support 200lbs of fuel?

The LRA (Long Range Auto) tank replaces your stock tank and has a total of 33 gallons. (“1.6x More Fuel Capacity”)

the JD Fab CRADLE (this isn’t a tank):
“You have the option of running our kit as a rear mounted gas tank cradle for either a 25 or 31 gallon fuel cell. The kit can be set up as an auxiliary fuel tank or you can run it as a standalone. You also have the option of running the kit as an "under the bed" storage box for batteries, tools, spare parts etc. “

Side note: does anyone actually read what others post (including links to EXACTLY what is asked for) or do you blindly comment on threads?

It depends on which of the two solutions they pick. I don’t think spending $1000-$2000 for 10 more gallons would be the choice. So I guess 30 more. I think you can carry the extra weight but I wonder about keeping the ground clearance

The problem with Tacoma is that 1000 lbs in the bed isn't crap. The actual amount varies from 900-1000 on most trucks. A handful may go as much as 1200. My Honda Fit would do that. My Ford Explorer is 1500 and the new Ford Ranger is 1700-1800. Hell, a Honda Ridgeline is almost 1600.

When you only have 1000 lbs of payload cutting it by even 100 lbs hurts. Remember 2 skinny adults in the cab is 300, 4 grown men could be 800-1000.

I'd actually like to see Tacoma find a way from the factory to carry more fuel for us who tow. While 25 gallons is only 4 gallons more than what they have now that 4 gallons would take you another 40 miles when towing, and closer to 80 miles not towing. That would help without adding too much weight. But Toyota REALLY needs to find a way to improve payload. 1000 lbs is a joke to call it a truck.

this is a really unimportant distinction. the description has a link to a $200 tank that fits.

the cradle is the hard part.

either is the supercharger or the exhaust reroute or the.. or the.. ;)

JD Fab are San Diego based.

edit: actually, not sure CARB is an issue. JD suggest running it with a transfer pump and the OE tank so it's probably not an issue.
