Does anyone have a good replacement for the dual cup holder in front of the auto shifter? I’m looking for something that isn’t rubbery like the OEM cup holders and the cup holders aren’t separate, just a single double cup holder. Drives me nuts when I pull a mug out and one of the cup holders is stuck to the bottom of the mug. I searched the forums, as well as Amazon and couldn’t find a solution.

I solved it by attaching them both together with some nuts bolts and lock washers. For me, this solved the issue.

Is that setup OEM for 2015? Mine had an adjustable center piece and not those rubber holders. Oh, nvm. I guess the earlier models had the plastic adjustable holders. Maybe try this thread:

Yup unfortunately they changed it from what you Year range had to these rubbery POS that have separation anxiety and refuse to let go of your cup. When I was searching “Cupholders” on TW it looks like this crap designed may have contributed to one member rear ending a car...gabbed his beverage and noticed the cup holder was attached and looked down for a moment to re-secure the holder in the center console and smash. Thanks for the link looks like your trucks cup holder design is what I’m looking for.

The funny thing is that I bought those POS rubbery things as an "upgrade" and might decide to put the OEM piece back in for the same issues you have experienced.

I replaced the cup holder with the previous design for automatic 05-09 Tacoma’s (55604-04010), works great. Before I switched I found that connecting the two rubber junk holders together underneath with two paper clamps helps to prevent them from sticking to the bottom of large cups/mugs.

    With 55604-04010:

Another simple solution - Velcro them down. Did this 3 months after buying my 2013 DCLB and they have never came up again

I did the exact same in replacing with the previous design. It's not perfect, but it's much better than that rubber one.
