Hey guys, a while back when browsing thru fog light info, I saw a light that had programmable dual color option. It offered the 6000k white light, and also the amber fog when needed. This seems like the perfect solution I am looking for, I can't remember who makes it? Any thoughts? and also anyone run something like this. P.S. the amber is NOT just a backlight option, it is a true fog light.

I don't recall seeing this, but I can't get to everything.
One note; If you found such a unit, I would research before buying, there lots of henky no name LED automotive companies out there peddling lighting. Especially when looking for colors, color changing, etc. I'd be highly suspect of their creditability.

The only thing that I have heard of is some companies offer amber covers that attach to the lights to change the color of them.

AlphaRex Double Tap. I saw them when was researching fogs.
I wound up purchasing DD SS3 Max's so can't comment the AlphaRex's performance.

Toyota offer OEM dual-color LED fog lights on some of their JDM small-car models. I wish they did here -- I have to change lenses on my Diode Dynamics SS3 Pros when I want to change colors.

Lasfit has a dual color LED that replace the fog bulbs. I've had them for a year and a half, and while one did have an issue, it was warrantied no questions. I've been happy

seems like wasting money to cut output in half by dividing the unit into smaller beams, instead of choosing a solid yellow light that is better

supposedly DD makes the best yellow fogs, that can run in stock bumper or steel
    Done

I've got stock ARB fogs. They're cheap. If I ever upgrade down the road, it'll probably be DD yellow, and they'll be good.
Yellow performs better. And looks better.
Maybe for now would put yellow film on the ARB lens.

The Rigid units quoted below are the only legitimate dual color fog light on the market that is SAE compliant. There are no others.

PnP multi-color LEDs are utter garbage, stay away from those and don't fall for that BS. For LEDs to make multiple colors, they need to use multiple emitters, and if using multiple emitters you cannot place both in the same location as a halogen filament because they cannot both occupy the same space. So the emitters are not positioned correctly and the result is far worse glare and beam pattern than a standard PnP LED in a halogen housing.

You can see the full review in the J583 thread linked earlier and below.

Rigids are the only ones. Aside from using snap on yellow lenses over a white lamp, but even in that case if trying to use a snap on yellow lens over a 5000-6000k color temp, the yellow is still not actually compliant.

If interested in the Rigid dual colors, I have a few that are basically new in box that I would sell for much less that the retail pricing. Realistically, there is no need for dual color fogs. Fogs should only be used when needed in actual poor weather and in those conditions yellow is better performing, so make all the light yellow for the best performing lamp.

Those are the exact kind of products mentioned earlier that are utter garbage and should be avoided. That vendor was also banned from this forum.
