Dual 10" subwoofer sealed box

hey everyone.. so Im new to this and this is my first post.. I need some help with my system in my Tacoma.. I have dual 10" kicker subs powered by a planet audio 1500w amp in a sealed box behind the back seats.. to me it just doesn't seem like it Bumps the way it should be.. when I crank up the volume it's like the bass almost starts to go away and it just sound awful.. I was thinking maybe it's the box since there's not a lot of space but maybe y'all can help me figure this problem out

 

could be the box, could be the subs.....

Do you know where the box was purchased? Have you checked it for any air leaks?

Do you know the space requirements for your subs? Your box maybe too small for the subs that you put into it.

Also make sure your amp is tuned correctly...

The boxes have to be small to fit back there, larger boxes and larger subs will get you more bass, but you have to mount your box somewhere else. Maybe a bed cut...

That would be you clipping the signal, you will blow them up if you continue

 

I have a sundown sa8v2 on 800. But about to put 2 hds300.115s in on 2.4k.

I built it so when i fold up the bottom of the seats i can slide the box in ,on top of the storage bins.

Close all windows, crank bass, slowly roll down windows. If the bass gets better your box is off, if not then there are other problems.

 

Hmm. I have twin 10" Kicker Comp-D's in a sealed box in my truck. Much smaller amp. Bass isn't an issue. Something's definitely not right.

 

Did you purchase the box from Amazon? Looks awfully familiar to this one

Yep. That's the one! Worked out really well actually. And the local radio shop that installed for me said the box was decent quality too.

However I have seen how speaker/box placement can make a difference in sound wave phase. Although we dont have much to play with in these tacomas. More in a car trunk or SUV.

 

So true, the sa8 in my 4door yukon was loud if pointed at a back corner with backseats up, but if back seats were down and sub was port back sub up directly behind my seat it was practically silent so bizarre.
