I've seen a few thread on this topic, but none have a resolution.

I'm curious if anyone here has advice. I bought these running boards and would like to find a way to drop the height a few inches since my truck is lifted.

I was thinking about adding these steel spacers from Home Depot in between the brackets and bottom of truck. I'm not sure what else I could do. The spacers are 1". Home Depot sells them up to 2". Since they are Steel, I figure they'll keep the strength intact of the actual running boards and durability.

    Open to thoughts.IMG_44A52BBA2424-1.jpg66780040500__5D954626-A75A-433F-81D5-5FC8B4F52E39 2.HEIC.jpgScreen Shot 2022-03-02 at 11.37.14 PM.jpg

the problem you may run into is that without a spacer the force applied when you step on the running board is spread over the entire face of the brackets where they contact the rocker panel. when you use the spacer, the entire force will be concentrated at just the contact area between the spacer and the rocker panel which could cause damage. You would be better off getting a block of aluminum as big as the bracket, and drill holes accordingly

Not sure why I didn't receive a notification of you responding. I'm new to TW maybe I don't have my notifications set correctly.

Anyway, thanks for your input. You definitely make a good point. Ideally I'd love to find a block of aluminum the size of the bracket and cut and drill accordingly. I'm just not sure I have the appropriate tools to cut metal like that.

    Oh look, another mod....

If you want to spend $1k on running boards, you could get these: Power deployable drop running boards.

Does anyone have the power running boards? I am interested but want an honest review from someone here first
