Fantastic instructions! I measured the hole like this and it works perfectly.

yep take a look on eBay you can buy new ones even OEM. It’s gotta be better than a jethro bodean repair of a cracked visor. That repair looks like pissin up a rope

Glad I found this. Our Rav4 has this problem and the wife just told me 2 days she found a new visor online. I think I will fix the one we have.

Followed these instructions and it worked awesome... visor pulls down smooth (no more popping sound) and stays tight against ceiling when not in use. Took my time sewing it back up and can hardly see the stitches, especially because its not in a very visible spot to begin with. Very happy with this quick, cheap fix! Thanks!

This method is great. Wish I had seen this before I fixed my drooping '05 with small hose clamps to put pressure on the mechanism. Works but not nearly as clean.

I like the screw idea, but I'm also lazy. Does anyone know if there's a clip like this to clamp that broken plastic back in place? It's apparently also common on civic's

My driver side is not longer tight to the ceiling. I've found replacement visors on Amazon for like $20 bucks.

The lame part is that none of them have the visor with the light

I used binder clips and they have been holding great so far. I just remove the silver levers or whatever they're called after the black clip is in place.

BlakeyD - That is exactly the kind of solution I was looking for. Now to go raid my wife's binder clips...

    Thanks!

    Hmmm

Maybe I should try the binder clips.

No money, all went to truck...
I tried the fix in the video. Didn't work for me and there's no way you get your visor back together looking anything close to normal. Ended up just buying new ones when Toyota had a sale.

Tried this on my wifes honda accord last night after seeing this and it helped a little but not too much. Did you place the clip as far left as you could? Just one clip?

had the same issue on my Wife’s Highlander. Gave up on anything attractive to fix it or, too expensive to replace it. Figured nothing got lose, so I put a 10-32 trim screw with the large area counter sink washer and a dome nut/washer all the way through the visor near the pivot. It works OK, not perfect, but still allows me to simply crank down on it when it gets loose again. She doesn’t mind the Mod, and it is out of her face.
You’d think a simple visor could be better engineered......

I placed it right over the broken hinge. Or at least where the broken part is show in the video on this thread. My visors were hanging roughly 2 inches from the headliner and the clip was strong enough to pull mine back to being tight against the headliner.
