    Dynamat is sound dampening material.

Either sound proof the cab or change the muffler. Really the only options.

I have the Flowmaster American Thunder cat back dual outlet on mine in addition to the URD cat delete Y pipe. To say the least the drone was horrendous. I installed one of these in front of the muffler and it made a world of difference. Most exhaust shops should carry them, you will want the 18" X 2 1/2" spiral louvered make sure that the flow goes into the louveres and not over, inlet side is shown ;)

What is that like a resonator or something?

glasspack used as a resonator ;) FWIW I worked at a Meineke shop for several years and learned quite a few tricks ;)

It adds resistance to the flow, to reduce drone, after your change your exhaust to decrease resistance.

    :notsure:

It all seems pretty pointless to me.

If you don't mind a little fabrication, adding on a helmholtz resonator is the way to go.

    Ditch it for a TRD.
