Hey guys so I recently got a set of headlights that have Halos in them, and I'm having some issues with getting them to come on when I want.

The light switch has 4 positions:
    1.) off
    2.) DRL
3.) goes to night time mode with tailights and aux lighting in headlight on
4.) headlights turn on and everything is on

Right now I have the Halos wired to the turn signal light, and they come on when I switch my lights to option 3

    5D5BE941-0376-49B1-AA91-4AD900D5187A_zps_fdc2d90e9ae1ad122fd54828bd13a76b1f115f7f.jpg

I have the red wire connected to the solid green, and the black to the white with green stripe

How would I wire them so that the halo comes on when I'm on option 2, DRL

Any help is appreciated thank you!

I have switchback halos they come on automatically when I start the truck in position one (off) I don't use the DRL because that also powers the signal light as I recall and if you tap the DRL wire with the switchback halos it'll make it be Orange instead of the White which isn't good for the little halos according to TRS's paperwork that came with the Halos. I'll go look tomorrow to see what I have tapped where.

That's what I've tapped into, which I thought they would come on in DRL but they didn't

I'll see which wire you use, just don't know if it's smart for life of the halo to keep them on all the time

Do you have their newest switchbacks? If so, mine has been on since they came out. Nothing wrong with them.

And Jonh, I tapped into my rear tail lights turn signal for switchback function. Sure, it's more wires but works!!

Well I don't have switchback halos, just regular amber halos.

And the rear tailights would make sense, but I actually think I'm gonna wire them to a a switch, makes it way easier

Rear taillights would make sense if you have the switchback function. But halos on a switch works! I also have mine on a switch.

Yeah that's what I've heard is the best for life of the halo, to turn it off when using your headlights and that way I can have it on when I want

I have a question if anyone could point me in the right direction, what are the wires in the DRL socket. is green the negative and the other two a positive power. I just need to know which wire powers what and which wire is the ground wire, which I believe the ground wire is the green wire. any information would be greatly appreciated because I cannot find the answer anywhere. It seems like a hidden myth!

Check my OP, I made the comment there. The green is the positive and the white with green line is the black or ground. No idea what the yellow does

I think it's the yellow on the driver side and blue on the passenger is the wire that goes to the turn signal

So would you happen to have a clue on how to get Jdm astar switchbacks to work properly on my set up. I have ran the resistor but when the switch is on parking lights the light is whit but as soon as I turn the truck on the light becomes Amber and doesn't go back white until I turn all of the lights on which is the opposite of what I wanted. I wanted a fully white DRL and only Amber with the turn signal. I code these bulbs because they are good quality at a fair price. Vled are very good but expensive but I may have to go that route to achieve what I want unless any of you have any ideas. Thanks.

Not a clue, that's the reason I didn't go switchbacks. I didn't want to deal with the complications

Do what I did, tap your switchback function with your tail light turn signal.

What year did they start using the DRL position on the headlight switch? Can anyone provide a factory diagram from those years? What you are asking is easy to do... I just need a proper diagram to look at.

i stumbled across a 2013 diagram (supposedly). the colors should be
Yellow wire = positive lead for the left turn signal
Sky Blue wire = Positive lead for the right turn signal
    white/black stripe = chassis ground

you should really wire one set halos to their respected side. they will flash when the turn signal is applied.

    Capture.jpg

the solid green wire is for the parking light circuit.

So all I would have to do to make them come on and flash with my turn signal is tap the respective colored wire! Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for

Just when through this, the DRL is also the turn signal, so even in the DRL position the light will flash when you are using the turn signal.
If you look at both your DRL's on the head light they have three wires running into them, one for the DRL/turn signal, and one for the running light (lower level power) and the final one is the ground.
the DRL is the odd color on both sides, the other two are the same on both sides.
