    I'm installing some pod lights as driving lights. Have a noob question.
    one of the wire needs to be attached to "ACC". When I installed fog lights 20 years ago, I tapped into parking lights so that I don't accidentally leave the lights on when I left the car. I want to wire it this way again. What I don't remember is are the parking lights polarized? There are two wires going into the parking lights. Is it ok to tap into any of the two wires?

    Thanks in advance.

    First decide how you want your lights to work.
    -switched with highbeams; this is the 'normal' driving light setup, in fact a lot of laws require this. The highbeam circuit provides the +12v to trigger the relay and turn on the driving lamps. This is how all of my lights are wired, you have to have the highbeams on to run the driving lights..

    -switched with acc/ign; this is usually an easier install, +12v can come from any fuse or empty slot that is switched on in acc or with the ignition. Lights will come on whenever you turn the switch and the truck is in acc or running - independent of other lights.

    -always on. +12v from the battery, lights will come on whenever they are turned on. It's easy to forget and kill the battery with this setup.

    Use relays to turn on lights, and use a decent fuse between the batt and the relay (green wire) like this diagram;

    Thanks Mike.
    I was going to set it up so that when my parking lights are on, then I can use the fogs.
    a guy at a shop told me that if I am using LED, then I have to tap into a positive ACC on my parking lights.
    I believe positive was brown or red...I forgot what color parking light wires were. So I was going to try that.

    First - I highly recommend you use a relay setup like the diagram I posted,

    Second - Rather than cutting into harnesses and splicing wires I would recommend using an add-a-fuse;
    It would be on the end of the white source wire;

    What year is your Tacoma?

    For a 3rd gen you can replace the 15A Fog fuse with the add-a-Fuse and have power when the fogs are on.
    If you did the DRL fuse they would have power when your daytime running lights are on.
    Or the Highbeam / Lowbeam fuses to have power with the different headlights.

    2nd Gen;
    15A Fog fuse,
    also the DRL and Headlight fuses are there too;
