Went to get in my 06 tacoma pre-runner (w/ power locks) but the door wont open from the inside or the outside. The key will only turn one way. I got the window down but everything runs into the door lock actuator. Any ideas on how to get the door panel off or open the door so I can replace the actuator?

Sounds like the little plastic clips that hold the connecting rod from the handle to the latch have broke. Being it is 11 years old they will fatigue. A slim jim is about the only way to get it open if your good with one :jerkoff: once open it's a fairly easy repair. Good luck o.p.

I rolled the window down and was able to get the top part of the door panel off. From the looks of it the actuator is bad. Unfortunately i cant get the actuator out if the door isn't open.

All right here is the conclusion. I decided that it wasn't the motor because I could still here is engaging. So I ended up spraying a bunch of WD40 down where the lock and door handle cables connect to the actuator and it started working. After getting the actuator out I realized that some of the levers didn't have full range of motion so I took the actuator apart (which is a pain in the ass and requires patience). One of the springs had broken off and moved some components. I have no idea how the WD40 affected the components but it worked. Went to the Toyota scrap yard and paid 65 for a used one. THE END

WD40 works like VooDoo and killing a chicken or a goat... Magic.

    Do not question the WD40.

If you could pop the outer window molding trim off. It's easy access to push the plunger door lock actuator down. The trim is clipped it. I would try pry between rubber and door skin with and use a plastic pry tool
