Driver window control fixed answer within!!

Tried putting the passenger window down on the driver side. No go. Tried putting driver side down. Works. And the rear windows as well.
Now I try using the auto down feature on the driver window doesn't work.
Go to the passenger door and put that window down with the passenger switch it works. Tried using the auto down feature on the passenger side switch no go.

Any ideas what would cause the driver side passenger switch not to work but the passenger switch on the passenger side work? And why the auto down doesn't work either.
I know to hold done and release after about a sec or 2. Just started today. Also the battery died. I think I left my light on the rear cab on.

The windows probably just need to be "re programmed" after the battery lost power - at least that would be the case for auto up/down. It's a simple operation you can do at home - look it up.

Well not according to @0210 how do u get help if they say look it up. I didn't know if anyone else had this issue. I should put in the OP. I'm going to look it up but if anyone knows of a fix can you please post.
Know that should've garnered a little help in @0210 post. All the post I've done I've never said go look it up. But maybe everyone should do so and see where this forum will be.

But for the people that may need this in the future here is the help. Call it: LOOK IT UP. This is from a post in Toyota-4runner.org posted by toto.
Yes, you need to reset the one-touch features on the power windows and moonroof when you disconnect the battery. The windows use less power to close these days (so they're less likely to crush hands or fingers), so they need to "remember" where the closed position is.

To reset the driver's side power window auto-close:
1. Push down and hold the driver’s door power window switch to completely open the window.
2. Pull and hold up the driver’s door power window switch until the window closes. Continue holding the switch for approximately one second until the switch changes from blinking to a constant illumination.
3. Check for proper operation of the “one–touch open/close” by pushing the switch briefly to the “DOWN” and “UP” positions.

To reset the moonroof one-touch operation:
With ignition switch in the “ON” position, do the following:
1. Push and hold the “TILT UP” side of the switch until the moon roof tilts all the way up and then tilts down slightly (approximately 10 mm [0.39 in.] at the rear).
2. Check for proper operation of the “one–touch slide open/close” and “one–touch tilt up/down” functions by pushing the switch briefly to the “SLIDE OPEN” and
“TILT UP” positions.

To reset the rear window operation:
1. Turn ignition switch to the “ON” position.
2. Push the back door power window switch to the “DOWN” side to open the window.
3. Push and hold the back door power window switch to the “UP” side until the window closes. Continue holding it for approximately 1 second.
4. Check for proper operation of the “one-touch open/close” functions by pushing the switch briefly to the “DOWN” and “UP” position.

The compass will also need to be reset if you disconnect the battery. Instructions for that are in the Owners Manual. You need to look at a map of the country to determine which zone you're in.

 

Should tell u to LOOK IT UP. But I'm here to HELP. There you guys go. Now the passenger window switch needs to be reprogrammed first before the passenger switch on the driver side will work. Once the passenger side switch is done the driver side passenger switch will be ready as it was done when you did the passenger side switch.

 

There is absolutely no need to be bitter to everyone in your thread. If you want to be bitter, do it to the guy that said "look it up"..... not everyone else.

BTW, if it weren't for the guy that said "look it up", you'd still be up shit's creek. You could at least thank the guy for heading you in the right direction.

I gave you all the info you needed to solve your problem. Do you expect me to memorize the steps to reset the window mechanism and re-write it every time someone needs it? Or maybe I should go and open my open manual and look up the info YOU need, so that your precious snowflake of an ego doesn't need to spend 30 seconds doing it yourself? What the hell is your problem? I gave you the solution to your issues and all you're good for is bitching that I didn't spoon feed it to you?
