I think you can get rid of the discoloration with careful use of a heat gun. Heat it slowly until the discoloration goes away. Be careful not to overheat and melt it.

Hey, that panel is an absolute B****!
I took all the plastic panels inside the truck out to soundproof/change the speakers/install a sub and change the 3rd brake light.
Everything went back in it's location smoothly but those 2 kick panels.

I kept them off for a while waiting for new clips to hopefully fix my issue, got the clips but now I realize I lost the stupid plastic nut that locks it in place (see picture).

Anyone has an idea what the part number is? Looked through Toyota diagrams for hours and literally cannot find it.
Any help appreciated, if I have to go to the dealer it almost means a day off for me since they're never opened!

    Thanks,

Here’s the part # and a hint to reinstall. I was trying to slide the panel from the back forward, that seems logical. I spent hours trying to get it on. Put it directly across from where you want it to go and push it straight into the opposite panel, don’t try to slide it in. It will orient itself. 746024C7-605A-4791-BDE0-785B31E86EA4.jpg

I'm glad I found this thread. I had to remove the driver's side kick panel to install a Redarc brake controller, and the usual instructions of "pull it straight back" wasn't working. I finally worked it loose. I thought the clips had been bent by the extraction. The pictures here show that they're supposed to look like that!
My contribution here is that I can confirm the panel stays in place and doesn't rattle (much) without those clips, just the sill plate and the plastic nut holding it. ‍

Sorry english is my second language. Angle forward as in the pointy side forward? Or facing towards the rear?
