Anyone know how to adjust the driver side door gaps. Seems like it sits further in than all the other doors (not flush) it shuts fine just shuts harder than the other doors. Just wondering if there’s any adjustment that can be done. I know there’s the latch adjustment but I don’t see how that would help the gap. That has been in a wreck I would guess. Looks way too tight. Both sides look a bit off.

It is very tedious getting this right even with the right tools and support.

Have you taken it for an estimate at a body shop? You probably should consider this route.

I haven’t, as far as I know this truck is accident free. Both pics are the driver side door. Every other door and body panels on this truck lines up real nice. There is a dent in the rear bumper smaller than a baby fist but hard to imagine that knocked it out of alignment

I’m not sure if this would apply to your vehicle. On one of my cars, I loosened the latch on the door sill, not the part on the door. Then tapped on the latch to move it, then tighten it back up. It took a few tries until it aligned. It’s a good idea to trace around the latch with a pencil or non permanent marker so you know where it was. Then if you loosen it too much and it flops, you’ll know where it was. Top and bottom alignment I used a 2x4. If the top is out, put it on the bottom, push the door against the wood, gently push the top. Don’t slam it, little at a time checking as you go.

On my work truck, it was so far out the light would come on thinking the door was open. That’s how I know, better to use a pencil or non permanent marker, the marks from the sharpie are still there.

If someone has a better way, please share. That’s just how I did mine.

Haven’t found one yet my man, hoping someone professional will come in. I rather not take it to a body shop if I can just adjust it myself

I'm not a professional by any means but have done this job. I can tell you that you must be patient and go slow. Study each diagram so that you understand what motion does what. Things such as markers, sticky notes and small metric ruler I found essential for measuring and keeping track of movements.

Also, there are several 12mm (wrench size) bolts that are tucked away in the hinges and very difficult to access. Toy invented a SST to reach those bolts and it is special 12mm double-offset, double box wrench that will be your new best friend if you try to this yourself. It is available from the Toyota tools distributor but is expensive (seems like I paid around $60ish some ten years ago. It is Part No. 09812-00010 and here is a pic:

For your Double Cab here are the instructions for the front door and rear door:

Thanks for this. I need to do this. My driver door is occasionally catching on the opening next to my left foot. Starting to rub off the paint

By far better than my 2x4 method, thanks for sharing. I've seen half moon and S wrenches but never one made like that. I'll bet the task is pretty impossible without it.
