    Standard tow package. Tailgate lock.
I think this is an unusual question but here goes. I have a 2014 double cab. Has anyone ever swapped out the factory front bucket seats for some type of bench? Obviously you would lose the center console, but may gain another seatbelt.

Never seen it done but I’m sure it’s possible.

I did that swap on a full size Chevy Blazer and I added 3rd row seating as well. It changed from a 4 full size passenger vehicle to a 7.

I'm curious to know if the Tacoma bench seat could be swapped in too but my days of being a taxi service for my kids are over.

As far as I know it is possible. I did the opposite in my regular cab so the bolts should line up correctly. Getting the seat airbags to work is another story, seeing as I haven't figured out how to make those work since the swap. Maybe you'll have more luck than me?

If you are in need of a bench I know a guy trying to get rid of one in Montana :anonymous:

    Yep.

x2 RC seat swap guy here - it's 100% possible.

@ryfox0276 you need to solder in (x1) 2 OHM 1/4 watt resistor to each un-used airbag connection, swap the passenger seat sensor to the bucket, and secure the seat rail sensor to part of the seat metal. You'll probably have to grind down the male end of the seat belt to fit the bucket receiver, unless you swap it as well.

Spent a few weekends troubleshooting my SRS and finally got it working as advertised.

Thanks for the tip man. I already have the seat rail secured and the seat sensor in. And yeah had to grind the buckles just a little bit. I need to get those resistors on there I guess. The passenger seatbelt buckle light still flashes too, doesn't make a sound tho thank god.

Are you saying to use the resistor on the bench seat's wire harness airbag connections?

This bypasses the bucket seats airbags then, correct?

Also that magnetic sensor, if you attach it to metal (either taping it up with some steel or attaching to the rail), we're telling the truck to turn off the pax dash airbag so now we have no seat or dash airbag for the passenger? That's my understanding
