The doorman hub itself is fine, I’d stay away from their bearing. Maybe go to the store and see what kind of bearing they use? If it’s an NSK you’re probably good to go but if it’s a cheap off name I’d stick with an NSK.

I'd say it really depends on your needs.

If this is a hard pounder heavy armored truck I would go with OEM only. (Or equivalent like NSK SKF etc.)

If it's a light duty street only grocery getter you're probably fine with Doorman.

They're not the best by a long shot but they might be enough for your needs.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Dorman anything is usually trash.. just get a good Japanese bearing and a decent hub.

I'd check Amazon. I've got a pair of Detroit Axle going on 100k so far. They are similar in price.

The warranty means nothing. No one is going to rebate your labor.

With their track record on most parts I don't think I'd trust a wheel bearing from them, another brand to stay far away from is O'Reilly Master Pro that stuff is junk.

The 1 year warranty you mention is Autozone's, not Dorman's. From what I understand under Dorman's warranty policy this would fall under their limited lifetime duration. That being said, these warranties (like most auto part warranties) are probably both worthless in all reality. For Autozone, the likelihood of a failure in 1 year or less is highly unlikely. For Dorman, a failure years down the road would probably just fall under "normal wear & tear" thus allowing them to dust their hands of any responsibility (although I will say with Dorman being such a large outfit I've heard they're pretty good about standing behind their products, so...:notsure:).

I've been running the Dorman wheel bearing hub assemblies on both the LH & RH fronts for a few years now with around 25~30k on them. As was mentioned earlier, I'd consider what your usage & needs are and assess from there. I knew going into it Dorman wasn't some top tier brand or choice, that'd be OEM, but for my own personal needs I decided they were worth a shot given how cheap and easy/convenient they are to replace.

Good to know about their warranty being AutoZone not Dorman burrito. Seems like the big 3 auto parts really play games with their brands and warranties alot. Remember when you could buy brake rotors and they were lifetime warranty but now no one has a lifetime warranty on rotors. Auto parts available by brand seem to be getting less and less where you have to buy online to find anything halfway good.
I really thinking of getting these to save time pressing bearing in the hub etc. but now I am thinking about buying the Moog wheel bearings and installing those in the original hubs.

Just a warning. Moog parts are not what they used to be at all. Beware!

I've got a couple of Beck/Arnley from RockAuto still in the box in the garage as well. I'm at 120,000 miles on the OEMs but will likely need to replace one or both in the next year. Current supply chain issues 'encouraged' me to go ahead and order a set. I'm pretty easy on my truck, we'll see how they do.

I got mine from rockauto.com and they have been on there for 5 and 4 years between the 2 with no issues.

I'm rocking a Dorman assembly on the passenger side. I replaced it before going to windrock Park and no issues yet. I have another hub assembly with the factory bearing in it for a spare so we'll see how long the Dorman lasts considering how many hubs I've gone through in the past 2 years

Why are you going through so many hubs?

Also Windrock OHV park is pretty legit!

I had a 2012 DCSB PreRunner, where the front driver wheel bearing had cracked inside the hub, and allowed the grease to heat up and then im assuming escape. All due to Tennessee road work..:frusty:

The passenger side was fine, since my front driver tire took the majority of the impacts. After discovering the bearings would need to be pressed, I looked into the Dorman replacement. It was an easy install, and I had zero issues with it. I actually posted a thread here leading me to discover what the actual cause was. It was unlike any wheel bearing issue ive ever seen, heard, or felt.

But yes, the Dorman replacement was solid for me on my 12 PreRunner

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/solved-metallic-rattle-i’ve-been-hunting-for-days.607075/

Page 2 of the thread has the result, with the exact Dorman Part # youre looking at.

I'm thinking install error possibly. Also thinking the A-trac system and wheel spacers are playing a hand too :notsure:
