Hello fellow Tacoma owners. I just recieved a diagnosis for the rear passenger wheel bearing (noise during acceleration). I recieved a quote of $1,000 to repair from my trusty local mechanic and $1200 from the dealer. I don't have a shop press, so in order for me to DIY, I would have to get the full assembly. I saw this on Amazon for $430 as titled. Has anyone did this, experienced this? And if so please share in here. Thanks for yall time in advance.

I just did a rear wheel bearing job on my '06 last month. Had a choice between using the Dorman axle assembly or replacing the wheel bearings with quality bearings (Timken) off rock auto. Chose to replace the bearings and not use Dorman. I bought a HF 20T ($240) press and the axle tool ($140) off Amazon. The job was not too hard. there are tutorials on Youtube on how to do this. with each bearing costing around 130 I saved a ton of money doing both axles myself.
if you choose this route- do not reuse parts that are marked as "not for reuse" in the shop manual. get all parts (except bearings) OEM from Toyota (wheel seals, snap rings, seal retainers etc)
youtube tutorial- search for "Kflo Tacoma rear wheel bearing replacement"
