2001 tacoma, door is stuck closed can not open from inside or outside. was able to take off the door panel (not easy when closed) and everything seems to be working (lock manually, lock auto actuator, rods when outside handle is lifted and inside handle) i had to cut away metal via dremel along side the window guide and still cant see anything that can help me manually activate latch to open. suggestions please.

Maybe if you can get a good picture of lock mechanism inside door I can help. I don't have one to look at to figure out were to release it.

do you know by any chance what exactly the actuator operates? is it door locks only or prawn that latches the latch bolt?

Do all the levers hooked to latch move properly? All the latching
is done by latch itself. when the metal loop on door jam hits it , the latch catches inside.
    actuator will be door lock

mechanicjon yes all of the latching is moving correctly, does the actuator (with the red and green leds) have anything to do with the latching or is that just for door lock (lock/unlock)

it will keep door from opening if its not working right. Sounds like it fits your problem. if its in lock position it wont allow levers to open door

mechanicjon, thanks for responses. but when i hit the lock switch the lock latch open and closes. im just wondering if it just not actuating something with the latch not releasing from the latch bolt or is it even related. Im going to check voltage across it tomorrow.

It appears to be moving something inside latch? If it raises door lock button when hitting power door lock switch, sounds like its working. Did you have any problems with this door before this? Hard shutting or opening?

I hate to suggest it. But take the door panel off the drivers door to compare the passenger side to.

Maybe even pull the latch out to inspect it. So you can figure out how it latches.

Xbeaus thanks for recommendation ill try that stuff.
mechanicjon was thinking the same, i did pull off the other panel for compare, and checked voltages seems like the actuator on the passengerside is not up to par. still thinking how am i going to open the darn door. Im hoping if i pull the power from the actuator (red/green leads) that will allow me to open it then disassemble as needed.
thanks for responses. Ill keep thread updated.

To add to the disassembly, I was also thinking too pull drivers latch out and determine how it latches. Then see if there is way to opening it from the backside. Maybe with a screwdriver and trip latching mechanism.
