Are there any particular tools or tricks needed to remove the trim panel between the door sill and the driver's side seat? There's no obvious hardware visible, so I'm assuming it's snapped in with Christmas tree clips or the like, but wanted to be sure before I break something. I also need to remove the driver's side kick panel, which I assume is fastened the same way?

FWIW, these need to be removed to get to the brake controller wiring plug and install the ESP P3 controller mount in the cubby to the left of the steering wheel.

The cover on the sill just snaps in, just pull up on it. The kick panel does have one nut (top right) that would need to be removed before unsnapping it.

Probably a 10mm bolt/nut, like the ones below the dash?

Nope, a plastic "push nut" comes off easy with your fingers, at least mine did!

I do think it's 10mm, but mine did turn with my fingers too.
